Publisher's Summary
The galaxy is vast, and not everything is what it seems. The invasion we always feared is here.
This begs the question: what do the invaders fear? If not us, then what…or who?
What happens to the would-be peacemakers when they find themselves in the middle of something else? Something dangerous, something highly advanced...and something familiar?
If humanity is wise, we will prepare for everything we can imagine. But we cannot prepare for what we cannot imagine.
It might be benign, it might be malign, or it might be a sign.
You just have to know where to look.

Poor
I have read or listen to almost all of Fosters books and found this one to be totally uninspired. The characters where uninteresting and story flat.No suspense or real mystery. I was easily able guess what was going to happen.I hope he can do some better work to the future.

Wonderful
What a wonderful story! I wish I could go! Melissa would never go without the kids though, and I could not go without her. However, if those of us who wanted to, could get off this ship before the fools run it onto the rocks and rip the bottom out, drowning us all in the cold, foaming waters…

spaceship shows up. lots of talking. the end
Aliens show up, make demands, and abscond with the human delegation sent to negotiate. there is lots of dialogue, but nothing happens. at all. ADF’s most disappointing novel to date and I’ve been reading them for 40+ years.
