Darrow is a Red, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Like his fellow Reds, he works all day, believing that he and his people are making the surface of Mars livable for future generations. Yet he spends his life willingly, knowing that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better world for his children. But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and sprawling parks spread across the planet.

Darrow - and Reds like him - are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class. Inspired by a longing for justice, and driven by the memory of lost love, Darrow sacrifices everything to infiltrate the legendary Institute, a proving ground for the dominant Gold caste, where the next generation of humanity's overlords struggle for power. He will be forced to compete for his life and the very future of civilization against the best and most brutal of Society's ruling class. There, he will stop at nothing to bring down his enemies...even if it means he has to become one of them to do so.

Not gonna lie, it was not an easy read. I was looking for some good dystopian audio books and every single one of them suggested Red Rising. I gave it a try once or twice but was not happy with the narration. Therefore I tried ebook version to get me through first few chapters. But once I got hang of the plot I really enjoyed the book. All the color-coded society, academy and houses to conquer. It was thrilling to read that. I'm sucker for dystopian genre and throw in games for survival , I'm instantly glued to it. I just wish it had a reference page to help me keep up with all the colors and tech used by them.

Another good Dystopian novel

No time to review, moving on to the next part asap because it's that addictive.

This book is love and hate and fire and ice.

This audiobook adds a layer of awesomeness to this incredible story, and it has certainly opened my mind to the possibility of other books narrated by Tim, that I might enjoy listening to.

If the Red Rising series which depicts an amazing dystopian world and it's adventures grabs you, (I'm sure it will if you give it a chance) it won't let you go until there's no more to listen.

Amazing Story!.. Spellbinding Narration

The story is excellent enough to stand at the heights of other dystopian fictions slow at start but highly engaging to the end. well fleshed out characters, tragic event and horrifying events, great character development of the protagonist and side characters. the lore and world building is still lacking for my taste. but it does not feel similar to hunger games or divergent series even though it has a similar premise.

narration of the story and multiple character's voice feels distinct and believable, and the song was beautifully and perfectly sang by the narrator. the song truly clutches your heart when it is sung.

for my first audiobook, I think that I chose a masterpiece of a book.

trilling story with well written characters and lore. superb narration, engaging and heart wrenching at times
