Publisher's Summary

This book is designed to trigger ASMR and help induce sleep. As a chronic insomniac, I have long sought an effective remedy. Traditional sleep meditations and soothing sounds only caused hyperfocusing and aggravation. Rather than instructing your mind to rest, this book is intended to give your mind lovely things to dwell on, allowing you to drift in and out of thought as you relax through the rhythmic tones. Though it is recorded at a slow pace, the speed can be adjusted in settings, allowing for an individualized experience.

The book is divided into three sections:

Physical Rest - poems directly related to sleep and resting

"Come Rest Awhile" - LM Montgomery
"To Say Before Going to Sleep" - Rainier Maria Rilke
"Wynken, Blynken, and Nod" - Eugene Field
"The Land of Nod" - Robert Louis Stevenson

Scenic Rest - poems involving relaxing scenes

"Hymn to the Night" - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
"The Day Is Done" - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
"A Night Piece" - William Wordsworth
"Rain in Summer" - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
"The Joy of Little Things" - Robert Service
"Deep in the Quiet Wood" - James Wheldon Johnson
"Harbor Moonrise" - LM Montgomery
"Frost at Midnight" - Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Familial Rest - poems involving peaceful thoughts of loved ones

"Sonnet 116" - William Shakespeare
"To My Sister" - William Wordsworth
"Eve Speaks to Adam" - John Milton
"She Walks in Beauty" - Lord Byron
"Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms" - Thomas Moore
"You Who Never Arrived" - Rainier Maria Rilke
"How Do I Love Thee" - Elizabeth Barrett Browning
"Sonnet 18" - William Shakespeare
