About this listen

"Scream" was published in the anthology Blackguards: Tales of Assassins, Mercenaries, and Rogues.

About this story, author Anton Strout says, "Jumping from writing one series to the next is always bittersweet. There's the excitement of new characters and unknown tales to tell, but you're also leaving behind familiar friends. Or at least friends you've tortured for three or four books, anyway. Suffice it to say, I miss the retractable bat-swinging antics of psychometrist/paranormal detective Simon Canderous and his semi-heroic rise through Manhattan's terribly underfunded Department of Extraordinary Affairs, but he wasn't always a goody-two-shoes. Before the events of Dead To Me, Simon had to learn that 'with great power comes great responsibility' (thanks to years of Spidey reading, natch). But in Simon's case it also came with added financial perks from thievery, too."
