Publisher's Summary

There is a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. It’s not an easy thing to do and Arthur Dent thinks he’s the only human who’s been able to master this nifty little trick - until he meets Fenchurch, the girl of his dreams. Fenchurch knows how the world could be made a good and happy place. Unfortunately she’s forgotten. Convinced that the secret lies within God’s Final Message to His Creation they go in search of it. For the not so serious

A keen piece allowing one to lose themselves with the creativity and imagination by another. A good time filler.

Brilliant

Of course, the story is wonderful, there was no doubt about that, I am here to praise an absolute masterpiece of a performance. Every singe second of it was enjoyable and amazing. Thank you very much for putting it together.

Great Book

It was great as every book in the trilogy but it seemed to have a bit less of the sci-fi factor. Overall great book :)

Great book, weird ending

So it continues the story just fine.
The humour is still there and the weird writing is still there.
There is even a chapter that gets very philosophical about how a character views sanity which is brilliant.
The last few chapters are its weakest and can be a little confusing. Maybe the follow up book will solve it

Hitchhikers but not as we know it

The Hitchhikers series takes a turn as Arthur Dent returns to what seems to be Earth, despite the planet's destruction eight years prior. Across five hours he does a number of peculiar things - peculiar in that it's unlike any book in the series prior. There's very little space travel, there's romance and key series characters barely appear. That said it's lighthearted whimsy very much enhanced by Douglas Adams' knowing style and, in the case of the audiobook, Martin Freeman's equally light and enjoyable reading.

Closure to the Saga

Some parts of this book are probably the funniest and most fantastic parts of the saga so far. There’s one section, which is so refreshing in a different style of originality that it is truly fantastic. But there’s definitely some parts that are a bit dry and can mostly be enjoyed as closure for the saga. Don’t read this unless you’ve read the entire series till now!

Down to Earth

This story is a wonderful departure from form for the series so far. Focussing on Arthur Dent's return to an Earth he previously thought destroyed.

This isn't a sci-fi story, it's a romance story set in the Hitchhiker's world with that same absurdist sense of humour.

Another great book in the series

Again Douglas Adams has brought his unique style of writing and great humour to this book.
I have once again enjoyed Martin Freeman's narration, believing it perfectly matched the tone of the book.

And on to the next one...

An Obvious choice

This “trilogy” scarcely needs a review at all such is it’s towering literary stature but this 5 star one is just really to add that despite what you may be told in other reviews, Martin Freeman does an impeccable job with the narration. Truly first class👌🏻
(It’s just a shame we can’t erase the memory of his Arthur dent in the awful movie remake)

This one is incredible

I did not like the previous book in the series, but this one is absolutely incredible again. The storyline is this perfect nonesense, that also makes perfect sense. Entertaining piece. Great narrator.

Great!

Arthur Dent is finally taking some initiative and not being a passive character which is noce to see. Douglas Adams 4th book in the trilogy is fantastic and begins tying together subplots with humour and irony very well.

the return

In my opinion, this is the strangest story on the series so far. Not at all what I expected for Arthurs return to Earth... and I wish we got an explanation in terms of Earth.

still excellent to listen to it read by Martin Freeman.
