I listened to the audiobook last year when it had first came out. Gave the book a 4 star rating because I found the ending absurd. However, last week I went to watch the movie. It was a 2 star experience to say the least. If I was not happy with the ending of the book, the way the movie was ended was even more absurd. But it encouraged me to listen to the book again.

Have to increase my rating to 5 stars. This book and narration immerses you in a world gone by. The character of Tara with her many flaws is well developed and one should keep her mental state in mind. One cannot help but fall in love with Tara, the city, and the water.

Highly recommend it everyone. I’d listen to the audiobook than read the book just because of Dhawani’s voice and honest accent.

2nd review after watching the movie

The story is interesting, has an abrupt end though, leaving the reader to figure out some unanswered questions on their own.

While the voice and tone of the narration was good, it was really difficult to follow conversations between two or more people - all dialogues were read in the same voice, without any variations and character.

Interesting story

The narration could be far better. Repetitive cadence with improper punctuation, bad pronunciation too. The theme of the story was interesting, and the setting and description of the locale had a genuine flavour
