Stella wird als Schutzengel in Menschengestalt zum ersten Mal auf die Erde entsandt. Dabei büßt sie wie alle "Frischlinge im Erdeinsatz" die Fähigkeit, sich zu beflügeln, und ihre Flugerlaubnis ein. Ihr Auftrag lautet, dass Leben von Magdalena Zindler nach einem schweren Unfall zu beschützen, bei der Heilung zu helfen und ihr Leben neu zu ordnen.

Das ist eine vielseitige Aufgabe. So muss sie sich auch um Magdalenas Freunde auf zwei und vier Beinen und um ihre Liebe zu Leo Bass kümmern. Auch Stellas Tarnberuf als esoterische Beraterin ist eine Herausforderung und zwingt Stella sich mit ihren Selbstzweifeln zu befassen, die vorwiegend auf den Erfahrungen mit ihrem früheren Chef und dem Ausbilder für Schutzengel herrühren.

Wird Stella ihre Selbstzweifel überwinden, damit sie alle ihre Aufgaben erfüllen kann? Und wird sie am Ende vielleicht sogar ihre Flugerlaubnis wieder erlangen?
