Before the Coffee Gets Cold and Tales from the Cafe left me catching up with so many glimpses of human emotions within. The author’s attention to details is impeccable. The setting of the cafe, characters, rules to be followed etc are so well crafted. Simply marvellous!

This book series is awesome for getting you to dream and feel things you can't quite put into words. It's beautifully written. Also an amazing narration and performance.

I’ve always found the most meaningful concepts in simple stories, and “tales from the cafe” is one of the simple and meaningful stories I've ever read. Why are you still volunteer for travelling to the past when you can’t change the present? Just to tell untold and find meaning and happiness in life, yeah?!
It’s an amazing story. Enjoyed reading it and liked it.

The continuation and the flow of the story is bit slower than the first book. But later on in the 2nd chapter onwards, it catches the pace. Nice story.

Having read the first book in this series, I wasn't sure if this book would have anything new to offer. But loved the way the author weaved in backstories and linked all characters together. If you are listening to Japanese names for the first time then it might be difficult to follow some characters as names can sound a bit similar to non-native speakers. Overall, love the short stories and how they tie into what happens at the cafe. Make sure to have a tissue box handy :)
