A lost colony of Mayans, avid for potential victims for their barbarous human sacrifices, only add to their danger. But the Lord of the Jungle has unexpected allies… Cast away with his band is a shipment of African animals unknown to the island, striking terror in the hearts of the Mayans and mutineers alike—but old friends and familiar antagonists to the man brought up among them…Tarzan of the Apes.

Tarzan and the Castaways is the final volume in the original series of 24 books written by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

In that context it's a pretty decent if generic end to the classic adventure series. You have 3 stories collected here.

Tarzan and the Castaways - Our hero gets captured by bad guys along with many animals put on a ship but it wrecks on a mysterious island where a remnant of the Mayan civilization still exists. Mediocre adventure tale but saved by some really good action scenes on the boat and humor

Tarzan and the Champion - An American boxing champion decides to go on a hunting trip to Africa but must face the wrath of Tarzan who abhors needless killing of animals. This is the best story because of its premises, plenty of action and some humor but there are also some uncomfortable animal killing scenes

Tarzan and the Jungle Murders - Burroughs writes a mystery where a pilot is killed in the jungle. Pretty fun story but sidetracked by the usual jungle adventure tropes action and chase sequence

Ben Dooley did a phenomenal job narrating the series and the afterwords in these Oasis audio versions of the Tarzan tales are very welcome.

Overall the original Tarzan books are fantastic if formulaic adventure tales with some mediocre volumes. I will definitely be relistening to my favourite entries in the series.
