This collection of stories by Kishore Chaudhary depicts the author’s empathy and ability to find the extraordinary in the many mundane things in life. The title story, 'Jadu Bhari Ladki', depicts how a little girl endures and triumphantly lives through the most difficult situations, which is magical in its own right.  

This is the story of a countryside boy, Rajat, who, fresh out of village schools, comes to the happening capital city of Lucknow for his higher education. High aspirations to become an officer, raw manners and slight desi pan in his etiquettes, he struggles his way out in the polished surroundings of college. The city and college start to absorb him, and he tries to adapt to the ways of the city.

Ab yaar, har launḍaa koii ddlj kaa shaaharukha khaan to hai naheen ki inḍaiyan siyaapon ke amareesh puree se lad jaaye . Par jab hamaaree kahaanee ke shuklaa jee, is inḍaiyaape se seengh ladaa hee rahe hain, to sahee-galat kaa faisalaa vaqat ke haathon chhod, aap bhee unakee is kahaanee kaa mazaa leejie. Inḍaiyaapaa lekhak kee pahalee kitaab hai. Isalie ise phaursat se paḍhxiegaa, ṭren ke kisee lnbe saphar kee phaursat, exam ke baad vaalee raat kee fursat, yaa fir sardiyon kee dhoop men aundhe munh pade rahane kee fursat.

Dilli Darbaar is the story of a young, jovial techno-geek called Rahul Mishra and his journey from being a careless flirt to a responsible man. Rahul moves from a small town to Delhi for better future prospects, and this brings about changes in his life and lifestyle to which he must adapt. His mantra in life is 'there is always a shortcut to success' - which he ironically proves right through his own eccentric ways. Dilli Darbaar is also about Paridhi, a typical East Delhi girl, and her path, as well as Rahul's, to finding the meaning of love, trust, friendship and life.

Neela Scarf can easily be called an interesting mix of stories - some very urban, and some with a very strong rural flavour. Her characters are diverse - from a retired air force officer in "Mukti" to a teacher in "Kuch Yun hona Uska"; from a Dalit woman whose job is to serve high and might in "Bisesar Bo ki Premika" to an aimless housewife in "Marj Zindagi Ilaaj Zindagi", they take the listeners to worlds and spaces that are completely different from one another.
