Publisher's Summary

All he wanted was enough whiskey to forget...

Ravaged by grief after a car crash took his cherished wife and unborn child, Chase Tyler had abandoned his family business. He'd hit the rodeo circuit and the bars with equal disregard for his life, unwilling to face his pain and move on--until a bad-tempered bull and a lady from the past forced him to....

All she wanted was his love...

Marcie Johns had known Chase all her life, had been driving the car when it crashed and his wife was killed. She still wondered if Chase blamed her for his loss. But she was willing to gamble her pride and happiness to give the man she'd adored since childhood something to live for. When she offered Chase a brazen proposition to save his company, he was shocked by her plan--and he hated himself for being tempted by the fire smoldering in her gorgeous eyes! Could a once-shy bookworm seduce the rugged cowboy of her dreams into letting her love heal his heart?

Critic Reviews

"Lively... some of her very best [writing]... the strong plot is heightened by Ms. Brown's trademark sensuality." ( Rave Reviews)

Would you consider the audio edition of Texas! Chase to be better than the print version?

I only listened to the book and I enjoyed it, as I do with most audio books. Makes them come alive

Liked the storyline but not the characters

I like all of Sandra Browns books including this one but not too crazy about Chase. He seemed cruel & Marci seemed a little unhinged at times with her lifelong obsession with him. He seemed cruel & she had no pride for a woman who has a successful career & is very intelligent.

Enjoyable Read

This the first book I've read by this author. Now I need to get book one. The story was interesting and the characters flawed. At times I wanted to kick Chase for being a jersey, but he certainly around. I also enjoyed the narrator, this being the first time I have heard her.

Enjoyed the book, but narrator did the wrong accent

Talented voice actress, but the accent was Deep South, not Texan. There is a big difference, and it drove me nuts, as a Texan. I did enjoy the story, though, just had to look past the characters not “speaking” authentic Texan.

Loved it , but...

Texas! Chase delivers most of everthing you expect from Sandra Brown except well developed intrigue.

One of Sandra Browns Major Failure

Stupid female lead chasing arrogant selfish male lead. That pretty much sums it up. I’m a SB fan, most of her books are good, a few exceptional, and once in a while a complete dud. Save your credit and pass on this one.

enjoyable throwback

I read this one a LONG time ago, and was prepared for a dated storyline, but I remember enjoying it and being moved. though stayed, it was still an enjoyable and sometimes moving listen. The anger and grief associated loss of a loved wife for Chase was well portrayed through story, and resultant reluctance to engage in life again and acknowledge chemistry with Marcy. their attraction felt real, as they were well matched. that helped to move move beyond some of the dated attitudes and conversations. the narrator was okay, she did quite good make voices - just not a voice I think listeners in 2020 want.
