Publisher's Summary
The 6:20 Man is a heart-racing thriller set in the world of high finance in New York, from the number one best-selling author David Baldacci....
A journey that took him to hell....
Having survived combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and been decorated with medals, Travis Devine mysteriously leaves the army under a cloud of suspicion. And at 32 years old, he’s swapping fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda for a different kind of danger in the cut-throat world of high finance.
His daily commute on the 6.20 a.m. train into New York’s financial district, to his new job as an analyst at the minted powerhouse investment bank Cowl and Comely, takes him into a world where greed, power, jealousy and ambition result in the financial abuse of the masses and the enrichment of an elite few. But it is on this daily journey that he passes a house where he sees something that sounds alarm signals he cannot ignore.
A close friend of Devine’s, Sarah Ewes, is the first victim and the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death at Cowl and Comely compel him to investigate further. As he digs deeper, he discovers strange coincidences and unnerving truths. As the deaths pile up, and the major players show their hands, he must question who he can trust and who he must fight.

Another hit from Baldacci.
Great book with nice new characters. A little predictable in some parts, but overall a nice read. Baldacci truely is the best in his class.

A perfect storm!
A common explanation from the experts on the news in recent times is "perfect storm". Whenever someone asks why something is happening. Be it the pandemic, climate disasters, or inflation. Fortunately for us the readers, unfortunately for our 6:20 Man. Travis Devine seems to have gotten himself into the calm center that is the eye of a perfect storm. A heart-pounding, leaving your palms sweaty thriller.

Hmmm!
I’m a big fan of this author and have been for many years, this was not for me. Sadly, I think it may be the beginning of a new series.

So clever!
Baldacci never disappoints. I love that the “goody” in this story is such a mensch. Excellent research. We’ll worth the time.

Baldacci on top form.
A leading candidate for the "best action thriller I have read / listened to this year. Top notch narration enhances the story.
Travis Devine is a formidable but not infallible hero. There are similarities to many other plotlines in this genre - but also plenty of original twists to the proceedings to make the story interesting throughout. In fact there are enough twists and turns for two or three novels. The average "physical attractiveness quotient" of the female characters is perhaps rather too high to be credible, which may be incentive or disincentive for the prospective reader, depending on your viewpoint. I found the audiobook hard to turn off and had finished it in a 48 hour period - which did include a long car journey - but also delayed a number of pressing tasks - I suggest you don't start listening unless you have some time in your hands - or perhaps an impending road trip across a large country!
The story reaches a satisfactory conclusion - which I did not see coming - for a standalone novel, but leaves plenty of scope for future developments if the author intends more novels featuring Travis D. For my part he will have one definite pre-order secured - for
both book and audiobook - I really hope this is the start of a series, though it may be difficult to think up another setting for the main character(s) which is as original as this one.

Another good one from Baldacci
Good read or listen, good narration, same niggles as always with Baldacci books, ie lighted instead of lit and the over use of incredulous.
Still a good story and ending, would recommend

Baldacci rocks
Another brilliant story, well paced yet lulling the listener into a false sense of knowing before yet another twist.
If you are a Baldacci fan, you will love this. If not, you don't know what you are missing.

Brilliant.
I really enjoyed this story. It had be hooked from the very start. I thought this book was so well researched and thought out. It had everything, suspense, intrigue, action and violence. I loved it. The narrator, Zachery Webber was brilliant. I love anything he narrates. So, all in all this book was so good. I’d recommend it to everyone.

Twists and turns all the way
Up to standard but spoilt by a narrator who uses the same voice for multiple characters.

Page turner with a caution
The book is a page turner and easy to blow through. The writer does an excellent job of keeping the reader engaged. This my first book by this author...
This book won't be for everyone because it minimises certain religious worldviews.
As far as storytelling goes, it will keep you guessing.

Good read right up until the end..,
I liked this book and enjoyed listening to it however the ending seemed rushed and amateur, almost like the end of a Scooby Doo cartoon when the bad guy is revealed and he tells you how he did everything. So that was a bit disappointing but other than that, not bad
