The Islamic State has spread its tentacles in India, penetrating stealthily into the academia, media and politics. The mastermind is Shamsur Ali, a physicist from Bangladesh. To destabilize India, he wants to create a sort of apocalypse, which the 21-year-old Kubha must prevent at any cost, come what may.

In a brazen attempt at legitimizing the demolition of one of the most prominent historical structures in India, someone—unbelievably, it could be both Hiranyagarbha Bharata, a radical Hindu outfit, and the Islamic State—resorts to a big deceit. Afsar Fareedi, a linguistic paleontologist, catches the fraud. In the melee, there are three gruesome murders, including that of her father, perhaps to eliminate all traces of a carpet which, Afsar discovers, has a lot hidden in its mysterious motifs. At the centre of all this is a verse composed by the maverick mathematician, Aryabhata, some 1,500 years ago.

Kudos to the author and the narrator!👏👏

It is a very well researched book which offered a fascinating glimpse of some ancient architecture (Hasht Bihisht), codes from ancient carpet designs, terrorism from external and internal groups, stories passed on from generations.


A female protagonist,Kubha makes it even more interesting, feels like listening to a lady INDIANA JONES movie :)


Narrators voice was soothing on ears, her pronunciation of certain complex regional words shows the efforts taken to learn the language.

Initially,when I selected this book to listen,I was sceptic about it but when I listened it completely I realised that how amazing it is..! I guenually got thrilled by the story and research which author has been done for it thoroughly....if you are really great enthusiastic about linguistics, suspense,drama and science..this is the great treat for you...I am now great fan of The author Sudipto Das... amazing work Sir...😊🫡
