This is the whole story, right from the beginning: the sun-bleached streets, the grimy bars on the Sunset Strip, knowing Daisy’s moment was coming. Relive the euphoria of success and experience the terror that nothing will ever be as good again. Take the uppers so you can keep on believing, take the downers so you can sleep, eventually. Wonder who you are without the drugs or the music or the fans or the family that prop you up. Make decisions that will forever feel tough. Find beauty where you least expect it.

Unique and fantastic
This book was one which I enjoyed tremendously as it consisted of 6 vignettes beautifully written and consisting of diverse characters which you get to know and love. I read this in one sitting as I was taken along on the journey of this group. Wonderfully written and beautifully narrated, with a fabulous twist I wasn’t expecting.

Unconvincing
Based on a potentially good idea, I enjoyed the first chapters of the Authenticity Project but it gradually degenerated into shallow, predictable and unconvincing.
The narrator was good at switching accents but often got the emphasis in a sentence wrong as if she didn’t quite understand the meaning.
I don’t often return books, but I gave up on this one about 3 hours from the end and have sent it back.

Absolutely loved this book!
I am so sad to have just finished this book as I was totally caught up in the lives of the very believable characters.

Fascinating
The Authenticity Project is the name of a book within a novel. It’s an amazing story that touches on several lives that have been damaged in some way. I chose it because i saw a recommendation by someone. I can’t remember who, but I am so glad I decided to read it and I thank whoever it was for pointing me in this direction. It pulls on all the emotions, in turn happy and sad, while creating creating humour too. I didn’t want the story to end and will certainly be looking for more from this talented author.

Predictable fluff
I persevered with this because it was our Book Club pick, and I will admit the storyline did improve towards the middle. But the narrator's Australian and Asian accents made me wince, and she wasn't helped by the cliche-riddled dialogue. The plot turns were in turn unconvincing, predictable or just plain unnecessary, and there was no real tension to keep me hooked. The premise was sweet, and we all need a feel-good read right now, but this was just disappointing.
