Impactful book

Amazing story of how God provides for all who earnestly seek Him. This has changed how I approach the Father in prayer

Hidden Jewels

Book is repetitious which I don't mind. My philosophy is repetiion is the key to learning. The accounts may seem unlikely to the inexperienced in faith. But to those who have tasted and know the Lord is good Müller's accounts simply give confirmation of the God you serve.

It was interesting to hear the gem of how God used Mülller's book to spark the fire for those who had a part in the revivals that took place in Europe.

May God raise more men and woman who will dare to see if the Lord does in fact provide for His own as a testimony to our generation.

Encouraging!!!!

Wonderful true account. I loved listening to this book and it has caused me to pause and take a good look at my own pray life and reliance on the Lord. I have even begun to make changes in these areas of my Christian walk. It was nice to listen too as I worked with my hands and even held the interest of my 8 year old daughter.

dry but profoundly encouraging

how neat to read the work of the Lord as written in the acrual words of his faithful servant 160+ years ago! there were plenty of moments when this account read like a bookkeeping ledger, but there is a compelling message through it all, and I came away greatly encouraged.

Already read 4 times, starting 5th

Would you consider the audio edition of The Autobiography of George Müller to be better than the print version?

The book is wonderfully read, making what could be a dull diary very compelling instead.

What did you like best about this story?

Mr. Muller was obviously a detail person, noting each hae'penny given to his work. Interspersed with the detail is a narrative of stated need and the resulting supply in answer "to prayer to God alone," as he says over and over. These matches of need and supply are astounding and very encouraging. At the beginning of the book, one learns that the young George Muller was quite a scoundren of the lying and cheating and stealing sort. While that narrative is interesting, I needed to hear it only once. Am skipping those early chapters on subsequent readings.

What does Derek Perkins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Perkins has added personality to words on the page. I bought a second book on Mr. Muller, with a different reader, and had a problem making the transition to a new voice for the story. Mr. Perkins has become the "real deal" personna of Mr. Muller.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

At times, I have to turn the speakers off to revel in the events presented. Am on my fifth time through, and everything still seems fresh and new.

Any additional comments?

For anyone considering a life of dependent faith, this text is our Mother Ship. It's scripture in action, and an unbeatable testimony of what trust in God yields. Highly recommended.

What a gracious God Christians have!

I enjoyed hearing how God, through Christ, was faithful to His promises in G. Miller's life! And His faithfulness not only stretched over many decades, but accomplished so much good for so many people.

WOW!

God used the testimony of the George to shed light and understanding to me concerning prayer, faith, trusting and waiting on God. His life challenges me to look to God for more and reconsider my motives in my work. To the seeker of knowledge concerning prayer this is a must read.

Powerful autobiography showing the power of prayer

Time after time Mueller prayed and God answered and provided! A challenging and encouraging autobiography narrating the life of this man used greatly of God in the 1800s. It is a long listen but well worth the time. It will leave you with the challenge to pray expectantly, with dependence on God to act and provide .

Primarily a journal of faith

After the first few chapters this book takes the form of a journal rather than a book. It is an amazing account of Gds provision for the work George Mueller undertook.
At times quaint and repetitive but well worth the listen.

Absolutely Awe-inspiring

Challenged to live a life of faith & prayer. So much of the experiences shared I can relate to. But up till now not able to make my boast in God's faithfulness alone. After this I can only seek to prove God in my own experiences through faith & prayer with patience

Exceptional, recommend to all Christians

This really is a great book telling in his own words what God did through George Muller’s life and can still do today. I recommend this book to all Christians.
These are forgotten truths that we all need to relearn, our Father in Heaven owns the cattle on a thousand hills and if what we are doing is actually His will and desire, not just our own great ideas for what we think Hod should do, then He will supply our every need for every part of our life and ministry Himself. We don’t need to beg the world for financial assistance, we can simply ask Him who saved our souls and called us to His work.
Simple, straightforward and true but so often forgotten or when remembered not trusted.
Read the truth of trust and obey and be astounded again and again at the glory of God our Father, Jesus His Son and our Saviour and the Holy Spirit if God, our constant guide and companion.
If you struggle to get by financially and want to learn God’s way to security and happiness, not wealth, this truly is the book to inspire you to trust God and to bask in His Grace and Mercy.
A wonderful journey through the life of a faithful man and our faithful God.
Please, read and be blessed.
