The contents of the book are great insights into the world of trauma and relief. Van Der Kolk takes his time presenting us one of the most insightful takes on trauma, on how we perceive it, how it effects us and how the body keeps the score of your trauma throughout your life. The insights are even more enhanced when Bessel brings in real life cases he dealt as a psychologist, hitting home the point that mental trauma is one of the most important health problems that effect the majority of people. He also delves into remedies and treatment of mental trauma, again with real life cases to let us come to the conclusion by ourselves.
The narration of this audio book is also excellent and it takes on a neutral tone even when the topic gets morbid.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for insights to deal with trauma and also to learn more about oneself.
