"I leave what is worse, than the worse that can ever lie before me. So, no fear there of my ever coming back!"

🥇 My favourite -
'The Professor' by Charlotte Brontë
William Crimsworth finds courage, independence, and a soul much like him.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
🥈 Most intense (and relatable) -
'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall' by Anne Brontë
Helen Graham, the mysterious resident of Wildfell Hall is unlike any woman the town has known ...and they know so less.
🗣️ (the voice of Gilbert Markham ♥️ )

🥉 Most wholesome -
'Agnes Grey' by Anne Brontë
I loved the silent strength and spirit of Agnes Grey. And her charge with the superiority complex reminds me of a vain former colleague...

🍀 Most frustrating -
'Shirley' by Charlotte Brontë
Like. Why? What was the point of this?!
🗣️ (the voice of Robert Moore ♥️ )

5️⃣ Most confusing -
'Villette' by Charlotte Brontë
Lucy Snowe's experiences were confusing to me ... and yet her courage through all that she goes through makes it a beautiful story.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
6️⃣ Delightfully dark with unsatisfactory ending -
'Jane Eyre' by Charlotte Brontë
On finally reading the story of Jane, I conclude that Rochester is an ass who did not deserve her!
🗣️(the voice of Jane ♥️ )

🕖 My teenage favourite read after 15 years -
'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Brontë
- OMG, Heathcliff is an abusive tyrant who ruins lives. And a child abuser too! Why did I crush on him for over a decade?!
- - He ACTUALLY DUG UP CATHY'S GRAVE AND SLEPT WITH HER SKELETAL REMAINS! Why did my teen brain ignore this?
- Heathcliff had me believe that Cathy was the tyrant! OH. MY. GOD.
- - My favourite quote from the book by Heathcliff directed to the ghost of Cathy 'haunt me but do not leave me along in this abyss' is rephrased and feels anticlimactic, unlike the book version.
🗣️ (the voice of Heathcliff 🖤😱)
