Very comprehensive!! Well done, girls. Loved it!
I am 44 and have fought with acne since my teens. A few years ago, I learned by chance (after being forced to clean up my diet due to a severe giardia infection) that if I eat whole food plant based vegan/vegetarian, my face breaks out a lot less than if I eat the Standard American Diet. While I’ve known this for a few years, it was still easy to fall off the wagon over time. I bought this after I heard a podcast interview with them as inspiration for getting back on track after a few bad breakouts. These girls are fun to listen to, have a wealth of information here, and I love how they don’t make it too complicated. You can tell it’s aimed at college kids, but I’m a working mom without much time to cook so I was thrilled with their KISS approach. I’m easily overwhelmed by fancy vegan recipe books (even Engine 2, sorry!). I wish this information had been available when I was in college. Getting my skin under control would have helped my self esteem dramatically. Don’t be shy about recommending this to anyone you know who is struggling with acne! They will thank you! (And my favorite part is how they start each chapter with “by Randa,” or “by Nina.” Like they’re reading their essay out loud for you in class. 🤗)
Good read, interesting information
this book had some good information but ultimately I feel I was being pushed to just be vegan which is something I don't want to do.
although I suffer from acne and don't want to be vegan I did find some useful information like completely eliminating oils, sugar and dairy products and the steam cooking food might help with my acne so will see How this goes.
