Publisher's Summary

All Jamie Lassiter wants is to marry his best friend's sister and settle down for the rest of his life in Chance Creek. He's saved his money, bought into the Cruz Guest Ranch and he's ready for that wedding, but Claire Cruz is nowhere to be found. Claire's too busy leaving Montana behind to care about cowboys or their wedding plans. She's got plans of her own - a trip around the world. She'll go as soon as she buys her tickets and she doesn't care if she ever sees Chance Creek again. Desperate to change Claire's mind, Jamie proposes a bet: give him six weeks to convince her to marry him. If he can't, he'll pay for her round-the-world tickets himself. Claire can wait six weeks if it means free tickets and a chance to get a little revenge on a man who once broke her heart. She's got only one stipulation: Jamie can't touch or flirt with her - or any other woman - while the bet is on. Now Jamie's on the run from a bevy of cowboy-groupie ranch guests, and Claire's learning she cares about the ranch - and Jamie - more than she dreamed possible. Maybe it's time to lose that bet. As long as Jamie loses it first.

Good

While I thought the heroine was a bit immature and self centered and the hero more than a little too good to be true, overall the story was good. It is steamy and at times that detracted from the overall storyline. But, having said that I had no problem finishing the book and I will follow through to read the rest of the series. The narration was good and easy to listen too.

This female character is an insult

Claire is the most bitchy main character I have been subjected to in years. Not one good man or women would give her the time of day. I couldn’t listen to the whole book. Awful.

omg

Forever infatuated, mesmerized and finally, in love with his best friend's sister, Jamie, a regular playboy knows what he wants out of life. His own ranch, a home, a wife to call his own along with a family. Not just any woman would do for him--Claire Cruz was it for him.

When Claire comes home, she's determined to stay away from men that use and easily dismiss their women after a proverbial roll in the hay. Hellbent to sell her portion of the ranch she no longer called home, all thanks to her mother and old memories of broken hearts, she plans to take her money and run on a trip around the world.

The Cowboy Wins a Bride is a phenomenal read that continues on from where we left off in Cora Seton's first book entitled The Cowboy's E-mail Order Bride in her Cowboys of Chance Creek Series. Combining romance, suspense, family secrets, and steamy scenes, I found myself delighted, entertained...okay, enthralled from start to finish. As with the first, I enjoyed every little bit of it and truthfully, Cora gets better every time.

What a bet

Jamie seems to methodical with all his decisions and Claire to busy to respond to Jamie.
This makes for a good story. The characters played well off of each other and it making you waiting to see whats going to happen next.
I would recommend this to young adults and older.

Another practical joke gone wrong for Rob.

Characters in the series keep developing more depth and personality. Can lifelong friends become ever after happy couple? Yes, but oh my all the hurdles to get there.

Recommended

I really enjoyed Jamie, such a good steadfast guy. He has only wanted a few thing in his life. To own a part of the ranch he has spent much of his life working on and Claire. Claire comes across as a demanding, self-centered, insecure birch. As the story moved along the reasons for her insecurities were revealed but she didn't improve much in my thinking until the end.

If the story were a movie, it would be classified as a comedy. It would make a truly wonderful movie.

Relationships move too fast to be credible.

Would you try another book from Cora Seton and/or Amy Rubinate?

I tried book two also, but done with this series. Main female characters are too insecure and that theme is repeated over and over. Prefer lead characters to have a little more moxey.

Would you recommend The Cowboy Wins a Bride to your friends? Why or why not?

Would not recommend this author because just not enough depth to characters or storyline.

Any additional comments?

I like to read series.......sorry this didn't work for me.

Great

Love Cora Seton books: they are a little similar after reading a few, but I don't care! Laugh out loud funny at times. Liked Claire in this book a lot-not your typical female lead. I also like how fav characters from other books make an appearance-more scenes between Autumn and Ethan would have been welcome. There are unanswered qns in this book that will no doubt be addressed in next book.
