Publisher's Summary

Every trader is an entrepreneur. And just as a new business must capitalize upon the strengths of its founders, a career in the markets crucially hinges upon the assets - personal and monetary - of the trader. As an active trader and a coach of traders in hedge funds, proprietary trading groups, and investment bank settings, author Brett Steenbarger has helped others see the personal assets they have possessed all along: those that can pay a lifetime of dividends.

In The Daily Trading Coach, Steenbarger provides the tools to help you prioritize both your trading goals and your life - and become your own trading psychologist.

There are 101 lessons in The Daily Trading Coach, each averaging several minutes in length. Each lesson follows the same general format: identifying an everyday challenge that traders face, an approach to meeting that challenge, and a specific suggestion for implementing that approach. The lessons cover a range of topics relevant to trading psychology and trading performance, including detailed instruction for utilizing psychodynamic, cognitive, and behavioral brief therapy methods to change problematic behavior patterns and instill new, positive ones. In addition, the book includes insightful self-coaching perspectives from 18 successful trading professionals who share their work online.

While the aim of the book is to help you become your own trading coach, its broader purpose is to help you coach yourself through life. The challenges and uncertainties you face in trading - the pursuit of rewards in the face of risks - are just as present in careers and relationships as in markets. The Daily Trading Coach provides a road map, and a practical set of insights and tools, for discovering and implementing the best within you.

better as print

The author says it himself, this is not meant to be read from beginning to end. there's 101 lessons. And there has not been an effort in properly divide the lessons, instead you have hour long chapters and it's extremely difficult to navigate. useless as audio book.
still a great trading psychology coach though. good content. but just go to the blog or get the print. ..as an audiobook it's just way to compressed and unorganized.

The best trading tool yet

I really enjoyed this book. As a newer trader, this book was most helpful in identifying my own personality flaws and inadequacies surrounding my trading. I know it won't be long before I listen to this one again. Great job Dr. Steenbarger!

I'm 13 months into my learning before earning day trading career and this book absolutely covers the hundreds of study and screen time hours I've put in.... The book just nails the trading world and the book flows so well... I'll be listening again!

Great info probably best consumed in chunks

As another review noted, this may be one book where in retrospect might be better in physical print. The trading lessons should likely be consumed in pieces, and overtime. It's a lot to digest in one go. Kind of like reading Tools of Titans where one should pick relevant sections and study those before moving on to others.

This is a great adjunct to Mental Game of Trading for trading psychology. Although personally found Tendler's book more actionable - but to each his/her own.

The last chapter is basically just reading of Excel formulas, so as stated: likely better in physical print.

As an aside, kudos to the narrator! Particularly the chapter toward the end of various interviews where he was able to narrate each person with a different "voice". Very impressive!

Better than trading in the zone.

I never thought I'd be able to say that, but this book is hands-down the best trading psychology book I have ever read/listened to.

A further recommendation is to buy a hard copy and implement each step. You will transform as a trader in ways you didn't think possible.
