This is a story from the Grimm's Fairy Tales collection.

Here are some of the most enchanting fairy stories of all time. The Brothers Grimm conjure up a world of fantasy, hope and good fortune where the princess meets and marries the right prince (even if he once was a frog), and where the cruel witch, the arrogant wife and the greedy wolf get their comeuppance. It is a magical world which we must all inhabit at one time in our lives and which are as important in this computer age as ever before.

Editorial Reviews

Upbeat music sets the stage for this kid-friendly performance of "The Dancing Shoes". Every morning, the king discovers his 12 daughters have worn right through their shoes. The king suspects they must be dancing somewhere, but where? Period music plays through the production; young listeners can imagine themselves dancing away the night with the princesses in a beautiful underground castle. Performer Laura Paton adopts a cultured tone. Her comfortable pacing and gentle narration make the story easy for little ears. Although a few suitors are beheaded, this tale is one of the Grimms' sweetest.
