In Hyperfocus, Chris Bailey - described by TED.com as 'the most productive man you could ever hope to meet' - provides profound insights into how we can best manage our attention. He reveals how the brain switches between two mental modes - hyperfocus, our deep concentration mode, and scatterfocus, our creative, reflective mode - and how the surest path to being our most creative and efficient selves at work is to combine them both.

Kevin has been one of my favorite comedians since I can remember. You can always tell when there is more to a person than their main act. That’s definitely true for Kevin. This man knows his sh!t. I never thought I’d look at Kevin as a motivational mentor but he definitely is now. If you could see my Audible library, you’d see I have hundreds of audiobooks and it’s filled with about 95% leadership and motivational self-help books. I’d rank this in my tops 3 books on Audible. . And definitely top 1 book for being the realist. Thank you Kevin for putting this “audio” together.

The shift I needed! Thanks Kevin
I’m Cara the one and only @TheCareerCheerleader, however recently living through this quarantine life hasn’t exactly been ideal, or cheerful. I’m usually the one with the inspiring words for others, and in the last few weeks I’ve struggled to find the words to inspire myself, let alone others, literally leaving speechless. As I worked to observe, adjust, and evolve through this, I saw Kevin’s book coming and instantly knew I’d have something to keep me mentally entertained, BUT who knew I’d receive the shift I needed to get up off my hindparts (as my dad would say) and quit pussyfooting’ around with my life (something else my dad would also say)! Thank you Kevin for your consistently candid nature and OVERALL transparency! This was needed! This book is ESSENTIAL for anyone on the life long path of leveling up! I appreciate your insightful narration as well, I could listen all day, and I did! This was the best 5+ hours of my day today #Priceless

a lot of nuggets
ok so I'll start with saying I am a huge kevin hart fan and there are moments in this book that really stand out, for many different reasons for me: 1. kids doing drugs in their butts for some reason nowadays 2. watch out for never or always in your thoughts 3. the force field trick 4. how pac man sounds 5. the phone call at the very end 6. all the new words. I would give this 5 stars but it felt slightly repetitive towards the last chapter before the questions. And I may never eat chicken nuggets again. There are genuinely some brilliant tips to improve yourself here and Kevin Hart is always inspiring so if your here for self help reasons you will probably get more out of this than for someone hoping to get even more insight to Kevin beyond I can't make this up. Ultimately yes I would recommend this, for an improvement book its definitely much easier to digest than the usual dry reading/listening.

Fantastic listen!
Engaging and some really good golden nuggets tips! Will definately listen to it again soon. The only small thing I didn't like is that Kevin sometimes talks like he is shouting but I guess this is his style. Other than that, amazing!

Pure Golden Nuggets!
I cannot express how much this book has changed my mindset! There is nobody else in this world right now that could change the way you think through comedy and transparency the way Kevin Hart has in this book! It’s a 6 hour listen - it takes a lot of time and commitment...it’s so good, in fact, that I’m listening to it for the second time! Top job Kev - you’ve made my world a better place!

funny but repedative
trying to be funny? it was funny and had good content but he repeats his jokes, some are crass so its like it didn't get funnier the 100th time you told it.

Genuine and frank advice
Kevin Hart's way of getting across is very in your face and honest. We probably all know a lot of this but it is delivered in a way that makes you sit up and take note. I will be returning to this book when I feel I need a few of his golden nuggets of wisdom. Well done Kevin Hart.

Like a long motivational talk..
There's some great key points to take out of this book but it's surrounded by so much fluff that they get lost. I've loved Kevin's book about his life "I can't make this up" but this book would probably been better as a podcast series.

Good insights if you're a diehard Kevin Hart fan
Does a good job at outlining techniques to help goal setting, achieving and to help tackle some generally well known self sabotage techniques. if you've read any self help stuff before and/or looked at Stoicism, there's really just a rebranding exercise. If you haven't, an entertaining exploration is to be found. If you're a big Kevin Hart fan you'll love it. Great performance in the reading and the no-BS language is engaging and entertaining. If not you might find the drawn out jokes a bit frustrating and detracting from the message. Does miss the mark a bit in this regard, there are jokes that just go on for too long, Kevin seems to be missing immediate audience feedback from stand-up comedy and doesn't quite know when to wrap jokes up. 'Golden nuggets' being the best example. Overall, an entertaining listen to a timely topic. Some ' Golden Nuggets' await.

Hearing is believing!
I'm someone who is currently struggling to find the mental bandwidth to get through a chapter, let alone a whole book so have turned to this as my first audiobook attempt....it didn't disappoint! Went out grocery shopping and got through half of it - the only problem was trying to discretely hide my nasal snort laughs in between tears of truth...this got me deep. Filed with nuggets and gems...if you know, then you know.
