Some secrets are meant to be kept.
No one has ever ventured deeper into space than the four astronauts of Shepherd-1. The aim of their mission is to witness the creation of the cosmos. Using the sun as a lens, they are to align a flock of probes in such a way that the moment of the Big Bang becomes visible.

The twist is so weakly explained that it amplifies the contrast above.
The key plot branching points are also very weakly explored, key decisions that are literally life and death are not given enough thought or viewed from angles that even a normal person would, let alone astronauts.
The final solution is underwhelming, whole plot tries to make heroes of people, irrational decisions not explained
overall very weak story wise.
