The secret society Talons of Peace plans to end the fighting by raising five dragonets from different tribes to fulfill a prophecy of peace. However, the dragonets leave to look for their original home and are captured by the SkyWing queen. McManus avoids getting in the book's way with unnecessary frills and goes straight to the action, detailing the dragonets' attempts to escape with breathless excitement.
