About this listen

The first book in the When the Music Stops saga introduces young circus daredevil Nick, born and raised under the big top by Polish acrobat and human cannonball Krzysztof Piotrowski, and American showgirl-turned-aerialist Jeni Messina—who ran away from Yale University to join the circus. As Nick celebrates his sixteenth birthday, the family edges closer to leaving the circus, fulfilling Jeni’s long-standing promise that they’d walk away once Nick reached college age. But for Nick, the circus is all he’s ever known—and his heart is tangled in the spotlight, especially when it comes to Bulgarian acrobat Magdalena Kovaczevi. As he prepares to spot his parents’ aerial act, Nick can’t stop thinking about Magdalena and the secret meeting she proposed behind the wardrobe boxes near Clown Alley. What unfolds in that moment will change the course of his life forever.©2019 Jax Resto (P)2026 Jax Resto
