Publisher's Summary
When Rob decides the family needs to get away for the summer Jess is not convinced—won't all the things they're escaping be waiting for them on their return? But the kids are thrilled, and before long their idyllic little cottage, the sea air, and the feel of skin sticky from sun-cream, lollies and sand, begins to work its magic.
Jess allows herself to sink into the holiday vibes—the family even make holiday friends. As the summer heat intensifies Jess—ever vigilant—unearths a secret—a problem she's sure she can help solve. But things are not always as they seem. The water may look inviting but even the gentlest looking waves can hide the deadliest undercurrents.
This summer Jess is determined to fix things where she's failed before, but life is rarely that simple. This holiday is going to end in a way she could never have imagined...

So boring!
I wish I knew why this book got good reviews. It’s so beyond boring I couldn’t get through chapter 7. And that was a huge slog to make it that far. There’s no tension, this is definitely not suspenseful as advertised. This book is awful and boring AF. Save yourself a credit.

Nice story. intriguing characters, great setting. There is not a lot that happens in the story but it is well thought out and told well.

Excellent
All that I can say is buy this book.
This was my first experience reading Bev Thomas and I knew from the very first sentence that I would love this novel.
There is an understanding and an awareness of the human condition with which she writes that I’ve honestly never found before.
Not only is this an incredible story, relatable, mysterious, engaging and filled with exceptionally drawn characters, but it is shocking in all the right ways and actually unputdownable. It’s been a long time since a book’s description truly matched the experience of reading the novel firsthand.
You will not be disappointed.
Fantastic performance from the narrator; truly brilliant and it’s actually a performance rather than just someone reading the words put in front of them.
I loved this book, I believe you will too.
Please keep these books coming, she has a gift and is truly a rare talent.
I can’t wait to see what she does next!!!

Kept my interest to the end
A really enjoyable read.Gripping in parts.I really felt as though the narrator projected the character of Jess...her stresses and strains.
I've only given it 4 because I enjoyed A good enough mother slightly more but still found this an excellent book.

Very enjoyable
I had loved A Good Enough Mother and I really enjoyed this title, too. I will keep an eye out for any other books by this writer.
