Publisher's Summary
What brings a demon to the gates of heaven?
The half-fiend Kaanyr Vhok finally arrives at the destination he has sacrificed so much to achieve - he is in the heart of Celestia with his lover and consort, the succubus Aliisza. Only to find that the House of the Triad is falling apart, and he is bound by a vengeful Aliisza and a renegade angel into trying to save it - not exactly the goal he had in mind.
The second full-length novel in The Empyrean Odyssey, The Fractured Sky continues to follow War of the Spider Queen favorites Aliisza and Kaanyr Vhok as the pair of fiends struggle to escape the heart of a deeply troubled Celestia while bound to a particularly determined angel.

Better than the first
Didn't like the narrator in the first book. I guess she grows on you. So better than the first

Why do the have to be Irish?
Her voices are done in thick Irish and English accents.. Why? She could be done better without the weird accent.

Just expected more
If I am completely honest, I would not have finished this if it was not a FR book, and was tied to the core plot of that timeline. It wasn't overall awful, and was an improvement from the first book, but I just felt that the characters where a little too routine, or binary. I struggle to explain it explicitly, but I felt like I understood the common arc type they represented, but their ethical struggles or developments just came across as grade school level morality with a child's level of contemplating. Aliisa's struggle with her family relationship is decent, but I really just expected more.
As for the performance, I just can't take to the accent, especially since the characters already have established accents. A little imagination can fix that, but I still dislike it. Also, a felt a LOT of the inflections where done wrong. There are point where the author directly wrote effesizers like "he said off handedly " and the reader will speak it with a completely different emfesis.
