Publisher's Summary

We live in a close-knit community. Thirty houses surrounding a square of garden that is perfect for our kids. We congregate here on major holidays, each family bringing a plate and sharing food and conversation. It’s in the garden that I first met her. The woman who would worm her way into my family and piece by piece tear it apart....

I should have known something was wrong from the very beginning. She seemed perfect in so many ways: She floated through the baby shower, a warm smile on her face, chatting to strangers with ease. At first, I thought it was sweet that she offered to help me, that she made an effort to get to know us, that she brought over games and knew Luna’s favorite foods.... I had no idea that I couldn’t trust another mother....

I should have known that someone would eventually discover the secret in my marriage. Why I never believe a word my husband says - and why he shouldn’t believe me. But how could a woman I only just met be the one to find it out?

If I’d known, I’d have called the police sooner.

And maybe I’d have prevented that dreadful scene. Every neighbor peering through their curtains as the sirens wailed in our street.

I could have protected my family.

I could have stopped what happened next....

Cheap thrills. Mediocre.

The story was lengthy and very slow paced. Plots stretched a tad too long than necessary. Characters were common. Story wasn't very gripping or suspenseful. Half way through, most of the plot was predictable, othen than a few given surprise revelations. Mostly, it was the Desperate housewives (Series) minus all the murders, just the scandals and one nights.

This character named Frankie is annoying.

I like this story but ughhh some characters are just so selfish... specially this character Frankie.. is just too much... she is too self absorbed. She is full of herself! She has portrayed it well.

I kinda feel bad for Celeste though.... she's had things the hard way tbh. She didn't really deserve this. She's actually a soft person. but then again, people bring the worst out of other people. Even Lloyd & Walter. They were good people who became bad coz of 4 dumb adults. :)

The narrations are point on! Love them all.

A very twisted tale

The story is full of obnoxious characters, but I guess that's why it's so interesting. Except the little girls every single character was annoying. I hope not to meet any of them in real life.

This was an amazing narrative.

People all around us have many layers, emotions, past and histories. What happens when you welcome someone next door, only to have the carpet pulled out from under your feet soon after.
How do you trust someone? How well do we know who lives next door?

A wonderful complex plot of human relations, lies and a complicated mesh of relations. Welcome to the neighborhood 😜"

great story with very infuriating characters

it was a good thriller. if it can be called a thriller, that is. kind of slow burning but not really. You already kind of have an idea of what's going on. The characters my god, I would hate to meet these kind of people in real life, all of them. But the story was good.
