Publisher's Summary
Revealing the tricks leading to success that today's market wizards keep up their sleeves, The Little Book of Trading is the resource you need to get all markets working for you again.
Recent events have left the average individual investor extremely dubious about playing the markets. But just because some unprepared individuals have paid for their mistakes is no reason to stay away from taking advantage of trending opportunities that, with a little careful planning, can yield exceptional results.
Market fluctuation is nothing new, but there is a set of rules and philosophies you can rely on to get the market back on your side, regardless of whether times are good or bad. Drawing on author Michael Covel's own extensive experience in the trading world, as well as tips and insights gathered from some of the world's most successful traders, this book identifies the tools, concepts, psychologies, and philosophies that will keep your money growing—and safe—even when the next bubble bursts or the next crisis hits.
With each chapter featuring easy-to-understand advice from a top trader or trading firm that has won by beating mutual-fund performance, this Little Book prepares the cautious, would-be investor to make money like an old hand and presents a revolutionary new argument: that mutual funds, long the investment vehicle of choice for people looking for security in retirement, are no longer to be relied on.
With everything you need to grab all markets by the horns, this book provides a comprehensive overview of active investing strategies and risk-management techniques that you can easily use to your best advantage.

Do not buy this book it is garbage
This book is absolute garbage, it says nothing, it is full of half-baked and quarter baked idea is that if you actually listen to you will lose your shirt. This is just pure drivel that is put out there, That is full of half-truths and out right lies, and that is intended just to take your money under the guise of teaching you something. Please if you take nothing else from this review realize it's a waste of your time and money, they are books like market wizards, and reminiscences of the stock operator that you should get. Do not waste one second of your life on this POS

Inspiring
Where does The Little Book of Trading rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I've listened to this book many times and have the hardcover version as well. It's packed with lots of trend trader's history and stories.
What other book might you compare The Little Book of Trading to and why?
It's closest to The Speculators but goes specifically into trend trading.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
There are lots of successful trend traders out there still making money to this day. All using mechanical or mostly mechanical systems.
Any additional comments?
It's interesting Covel never talks about details of actually trend trading. He's very general. But the methods for getting in and out of trades are so simple they're almost not worth getting into anyways. The idea of jumping on the big wave and riding it is a huge concept and will take a trader far. I had to read the turtle trader books to see the specific trend trading method details.

There are the books about trading. And there are Michael W. Covel books on trading. You can either do one of two things. Or Don't. 1. LIVE THIS TREND FOLLOWING LIFE. 2. DONT. OR these markets will eat you. I got ate , Spat out I stood on a customer's lawn whilst weedeatting August of 2017 and I had my first of so so many "AH HA" Moments.. Should've been called "Little Of Trend Following"
Anyone familiar with Covel's work will know he is an evangelical advocate for trend-following, and this slim volume is a good introduction and summary of his arguments in favor of this approach. I enjoyed it very much and will be re-reading it, despite his proclivity for sounding a triffle smug at times. Pratt is always a solid narrator.

Ok for beginners.....
This is ok for beginners, not anyone else. It didn’t give a lot of examples (if any) in relation to technical analysis methods & indicators used by the professional traders he speaks a about. There are some references to these professional traders web sites (I didn’t check out), normally with most sites to get the technical analysis methods, you get out your credit card!
