Publisher's Summary
Time calls the shots.
Unwitting time traveler Joseph Bridgeman is adjusting to life in the present and wondering if his traveling days are behind him. But when he’s contacted by the Continuum, an organized group of time travelers based in the future, he learns his career is just getting started.
The Continuum needs Joe’s help. One of their operatives is missing, last seen in 19th-century Paris, and they believe Joe’s ability to see the past might be the only way to find him. Teamed up with Gabrielle Green, an acerbic, wisecracking traveler, Joe heads back to 1873 on his most dangerous mission yet, one that will take him deep inside a burning opera house.
But how will Joe succeed when his new companion clearly hates his guts, the missing traveler disappears the second anyone sets eyes on him, and a familiar foe threatens to trap them in the past for good? With help on hand from his best friend, Vinny, and mysterious clues hidden in his sister Amy’s paintings, Joe must hone his gift, develop new skills, and figure out a way to complete his mission before the blazing inferno comes crashing down around them all.

Better than the 2nd book but…
Really enjoyed Ray Porter’s narration. He can breathe life into anything.
I liked this book more than the 2nd book in the series but the author has taken liberties with the fiction part of science. A few concepts introduced which I couldn’t wrap my head around. Of course, we are talking about time travel so what could be more liberal in sci-fi.
I hope the character of Gabriel Green returns in the 4th book in the series.
Already downloading the 4th book in the series.

Love this entire series!
I absolutely love this entire series. Everything about it…the storyline, the details, the narrator, the history, the humor…it all ties in so beautifully together. I hate having to wait for the next book in the series (and hopefully there will be many more). There’s something so fragile and delicate about Joe’s vulnerability that makes him a complete hero. This is, by far, my favorite series about time travel, and I have read my fair share. Note to the author: please, please, PLEASE put out many more like this. I can’t get enough. I’m a librarian and will make sure this gets onto our shelves.

Great installment into the series
While I believe this book could stand alone, I highly recommend the book(s) preceding it first. I would have missed a lot of the context and backstory if I had not done so.
A very enjoyable book from start to finish. Narration was great.

Excellent
It took some"time" but I'm hooked. While listening I had moments where I thought of my family and how I am going about certain things and unexpectedly, had an epiphany, which could change my future.

The story of Joseph Bridgeman continues to be most interesting. The timeline in this book was very interesting to me. Porter is as always great.

Such a wonderful adventure!
First I have to say I absolutely love Ray Porter. He gives such an amazing read. It doesn’t feel like he is reading. It feels like Joe is actually telling you his story. I love it!
I also love the adventure. The time travel and the description of Paris. It’s su much fun. Looking forward for what I hope is more from the series.

Amazing Series and Amazing book.
Nick Jones is very quickly becoming one of my favorite Authors. This series combined with one of my favorite narrators Ray Porter are among my favorite in recent memory. The story of Joseph Bridgman is an amazing roller coaster of emotions. Time travel stories are difficult to pull off due to creating plot holes etc… but Nick Jones pulls it off with believability and explains it to you through the main character as he learns. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and already have it preordered.

Great story, narrated superbly. I want more.
This stunning story uses a real world event to support a rich tapestry of pure fantasy in which the reader experiences everything that Nick Jones has created. Somehow Ray Porter takes it even further and helps the listener experience it all in 3D. Initially, one could be forgiven for imagining the American accent would only hamper the enjoyment, but frankly his ability to create character voices and hold them (all inaccuracies forgiven) is astonishing. I want more now.

I still don't understand why...
...an American narrator was chosen. Ray Porter is a wonderful voice actor. But seriously, why? There are also excellent British narrators too, and this is a quintessentially English book. It demands an English narrator. Ray Porter does not do British accents, His Welsh is truly terrible, most English sound like variations of Cockney, just awful. Having said that, this is another brilliant book and I did thoroughly enjoy it, inwardly wincing as each new character was given a dreadful accent. And yet I look forward to more from Nick Jones... as soon as you like, Nick!

Bit disappointed
Loved book 1 and 2, struggled with this one a bit. Found the storyline a bit non-eventful and lacklustre, compared to book 1 & 2. Narration got on my nerves a bit. I normally love Ray Porter and his narration in 1 & 2 didn’t bother me, but for some reason the American accent got to me in this book, and the other accents he did I thought were poor. At one point Niels sounded like Arnold Schwarzenegger!
I will continue with the series though.

Love These Books
I love these books as I have always been interested in the concept of time travel. It works well with my imagination which helps me bring these to life in my minds eye. I recommended them to my sister and she also loves them. I also really like the narrator’s voice, which some seem not to like. On to the next and final one then!

Love this series.
I'm not going to pretend that I fully understand how this works, but it's great, nonetheless.
I know many people have said that an American narrator isn't right for the character of Joe, but Ray Porter is excellent regardless - even if his Welsh accent is terrible!
I've really enjoyed this series so far, despite not really being into the whole sci fi / time travel thing. I'd like to see Vinnie go on another trip with Joe, his character (& accent) is brilliant & he adds a lot to the story.
Give it a go, what have you go to lose?

Stonkingly written and narrated
I am so grateful that my brother recommended these books to me. They just get better and better. Such a talented author. The narration is superb! It feels like you’re listening to a play with many different characters in it. An absolute treat. Highly recommended. Now onto book 4!

utterly love this book and series
I found this series searching for Ray Porter, the narrator. first 3 included with membership, what's to lose? I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2, with only minor quibbles over some of the female voicing (whiny and at odds with the author's intended tone) but as I love this particular narrator's work and the stories were great I looked past that minor annoyance. then comes the 3rd book- absolutely fantastic all the way around. the last 2 hours were so gripping I couldn't stop listening waaay past bedtime. starting the 4th one tonight! more please Nick Jones! great job Ray!

Thank you for your talent.
If you had suggested that I read/enjoy a tale of time jumping adventurers I would not have believed you. However, I am waiting for the forth book. Nick I hope you are working on book five. Well done.

Better than book 2
I enjoyed this plotline more than the second. The mission to Paris was more appealing than the Gangster story of Book 2. In addition, the transition from the personal quest in Book 1 to super secret agent missions in Book 2 is much smoother by Book 3 and feels less awkward and more natural. Still the first book remains the best in my view as comes across more genuine.

Entertaining
I am truly baffled by how much I have been enjoying this series. It’s not childish nor is it too fanciful, it is entertaining. I feel like I have a friend who has a special talent and he just happens to confide in me. I feel like I am Vincent.

Best series in a while
This is such a great, fun, imaginative series. I like it more and more with each new book. I actually really enjoy the narrator, his voices and accents - very skilled. I can visualise it all when it’s happening. Zero political anything, zero preaching, one hundred percent enjoyment. Recommend.
