What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This is extremely hard without making any spoilers but I would like the main characters to move on a bit with their life's. Of course it is important to tell the hole story so you doesn't need to read the first book to understand the main characters, but maybe give the reader some benefit. We get the point. It might be to much repetition of some of the stuff. Would be nice to know even more from the "office" and the colleagues. Don't use M***** to much, you use h** up. Feel a changing of the plot a bit more would do the trick. Yes and an other narrator

No, never with a narrator as bad as Laura Paton.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Laura Paton?

Would be better with someone who can read a criminal story. Someone who doesn't read the story is a romance from the victroryans. I don't have a name for a narrator right now but Audible has many really really good narrator to use. Let Laura Paton continue to read fairy tales, bet she is really good at it

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. But often book nr 2 isn't as good as nr, 1

Book 3, if it comes, will not be bought as long as you use Paton as a narrator. Then I prefer to buy it for a little fortune in Norwegian and listen the book in the original language

Bunch of winkers

I generally enjoyed this audiobook apart from two annoying things. Firstly, I could not get over the number of times one or other of the characters winked at the other, I don't know if winking is a national pastime in Norway but this book certainly made it seem so.

Secondly, several of the characters developed an irritating habit of dismissing or ignoring a colleague who clearly has information vital to solving the case or seemed unable to explain themselves in a clear and succinct way so what should have been a simple exchange of words was drawn out in to a lengthy and frustrating discussion.

Good story but really annoying at times

I really liked the first book ('I'm travelling alone') and had high hopes for this one.

I enjoyed the story, even though I think the conclusions could have included more details, but what really bothered me was how annoying the characters were getting at times.

Maybe it would have been less annoying to read than as an audiobook, but Mia and Holger repeatedly asking "what?" in every other scene started to drive me crazy at some point and I nearly didn't finish the book because of it.

slightly disappointed

I would have to say I didn't enjoy this second book as much as the first which was excellent. The second half of the book is better so it's worth persisting

Disappointing and unbelievable.

I was looking forward to this sequel but what a let down. Heaven help the Norwegian public if the dysfunctional Mia Kruger and incompetent Holger Munch are the best that their police force can offer. I barely made it to the end and can't say I was glad I did!

Interestingly boring

I liked it, though, struggled to finish. Good start, tragic final. But most of the narrative is about same personalities, all over them. Norwegians like always drunk or junk, suicidal thinking and never understand what they're told.

He has done it again

A brilliant story. It was well written and we'll read. I could not put it down.

Excellent

Even better than the first book but that may be because I was more familiar with the characters.
