Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Dr. Jason Fung joins forces with naturopathic doctor Nadia Pateguana to offer methods to prevent and reverse PCOS through diet and intermittent fasting.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common reproductive disorder in the world, affecting an estimated eight to 20 percent of women of reproductive age, almost half of whom are unable to conceive. PCOS is also associated with increased risks of heart disease, ovarian and endometrial cancers, and type 2 diabetes.

In this clearly written guide, backed by science and personal experience, Drs. Jason Fung and Nadia Brito Pateguana identify the symptoms of PCOS and reveal its root cause: excess insulin. They then show how to prevent and reverse PCOS with a low-carb diet and intermittent fasting. As a bonus, 50 recipes and a variety of menu plans are included to put new knowledge into (delicious) practice.

All about how to get pregnant with PCOS

I wanted this book because I’ve been on a journey for 15 years trying to reverse my PCOS for ME. I want to lead a healthy, normal life and not worry about eating one wrong thing and ballooning up 20 lbs. I do not, contrary to this author’s content, want to do it to get pregnant. I hated this book for its misleading title.

No PDFs?

This is a good book, especially for someone who is still working on healing through their diet. Why is there no pdf? The lists and recipes are needed in printed form.

I also wish the authors could have done the reading. This reader is not terrible, but she is a little robotic.

Needs PDFs

The person reading it is awful to listen to. The authors should have read it. The information the book offers is incredibly helpful. But for audible listeners, we’re missing half the info which is all the diet and food recommendations and recipes! There is no accompanying pdf with this info. I reached out to one of the authors and have yet to hear back. It’s a shame, I had to go buy the book to get all of the info lacking thru audible.

Science Based and Insightful

I appreciate that this book gets into the science behind PCOS and doesn’t just tell you what to do without explaining why it will work. I found it to be very helpful and it gave me confidence that I can manage and reverse my PCOS diagnosis.

Unpleasant

This book was quite unpleasant to listen to and I don't feel like added to my knowledge of PCOS. It was full of anti-fat bias and focused the whole time on losing weight. For myself, I am much more concerned with the impacts of PCOS on my health and wellbeing. Many assumptions were made about the diets that the reader currently has. Correlation between the author's own observations and general causation of PCOS were conflated. Overall, this is the worst book on PCOS that I have ever read.

horrible narration

I could not stand listening to this another minute. It sounded like somebody was reading off of a list or reading the NASDAQ 500. The narrator was stiff and robotic. I lost interest so many times that I'm giving up completely I made it halfway through chapter 5 and I cannot stand listening to this anymore
