Publisher's Summary

He's a professional hockey player that lives on the edge. I prefer to play life by the rules.

I'm the personal assistant at a sports agency that no one notices. I don't like sports, and I like professional athletes even less. I'm indifferent to the mostly male clientele, except for one. Mica "the savage" Petrov.

When it comes to wild antics, Mica is the biggest offender of them all. He's reckless, wild, and carelessly charming. I'm mortified that I find him attractive. But it doesn't matter because the guy hasn't taken a second look at me. Not once. In two years.

Mica's career-jeopardizing situation requires drastic measures to be taken to keep him in the game. He's got money, I've got debt, and my boss has a crazy idea. Which is how I found myself stepping up to save him from himself. But at what cost?

How long can I keep fighting my attraction? What ghosts from his past is he brawling with? All I know is that I need to defend my heart before this big defenseman steals it away. Can we win this game? Or is it too late for either of us?

Contains mature themes.

I hate to be mean..but..

I really like this author and series...but PLEASE, for the love of all things holy...stop using this male narrator! The actual female narrator is pleasant enough, but HIS female voice is just embarrassing. His Russian accent was also pretty bad, but tolerable in comparison to his female voice. Male POV love scenes are just cringy when he does her voice. Away from that, I hope there is more from the Vancouver Wolves series to come and would like to see a glimpse of this couple in another story.

Narration

I don’t mind Alex Judd’s male narration for Mica, but his female narration irritated me. He made her sound like a dits. I read the book before I listened and in no way did she sound weak or whiny, but that is the way she comes off.

Great Story, Narration Just OK

Except for Alex Kydd's female voices, this may be one of my favorite books. I loved the story but his version of Charlie's voice was nasally and whiney and very different from when Madeleine Dauer was narrating Charlie"s parts. It was sometimes very grating and distracted from the story.

The story itself was well done. It really had me on the edge of my seat at the end and I have to say, I really was rooting for someone to punch that slimy detective. lol That would have been a nice bonus.

I also enjoyed the way the love between Mica and Charlie steadily grew and how their characters grew and worked through their issues. It was very heartwarming.

Good story, but check out the preview first

I enjoyed the story. I really did. But the woman’s voice was too much. It was too high pitch, almost whining. It was distracting throughout the book. Other than that it’s a fun, romance read with some *spice* and a HEA.

Great story, atrocious narration

Story is great, the narration is unbearable. I actually returned the book and downloaded the kindle version to finish it. The voices did nothing to enhance this story.

Mica and Charlie

Love the Vancouver Wolves series! Love how author incorporates zoey, Ryan, krista, and Mark. Would like to see more about Rory and Max maybe...love how the author combines the non traditional family into holidays. Sniper makes me want to get a dog 😊
Loved the impromptu Christmas party...the love scenes were awesome! Will love for the series to continue Jensen...Justin...Dillon more about Max and Rory🙏🏾...krista and a player

romance with a bit of suspense

This was a great book that had both a great steamy romance and just the right amount of suspense. It is a book that will keep you turning the pages. I highly recommend this book

Ok y’all

Alex, sugar... I’m gonna drop some words. Alex has a sexy ass voice; however, his Russian accent sounds more like Count Dracula. And not in a good way. More like if he said “blah blah blah, I vunt to suck yar blooood” I would not have been surprised. Y’all... it was a struggle... the struggle was so real. If it weren’t for the story, I would have given up before the 30 minute mark. Again, love you Alex... but sugar, I’m beggin... no more accents like that.
