Not a new book... save your credit
I pre-ordered this book, not realizing that it's an old book! I love Nora Roberts but I just couldn't get through this one and returned it. If you haven't listened to The Witness by NR, I recommend that instead!

This is an OLD re-release!
I am glad I read other reviews, they echoed my thoughts. I assumed it was a new release, struggled to finish it and I adore Nora Roberts.

Not worth it.
This book was not one of her best. I wonder if she even wrote it? The narrator was not good and made the story harder to listen to.

Not worthy of a new book
No way this is a new book. We’ve come a long way in the last 40 years. I’ve had it up to here with damsels in distress, saying no, but hearing yes, yes in their dialogue. Where do I return this? I couldn’t even get past the second chapter.

False advertising, old story posed as new.
Story was trite, very dated. It was very deceptive for Audible to market it as a recent release date of July 12,2022. At the end of recording it mentioned 2009 copyright; I suspect that was a renewal date.

Problematic misogyny
The writing and story are dated and questionable sex scene-- he breaks into her room and she very drunkenly invites him to "make love to her". Lots of grabbing and pushing, promotes toxic masculine traits. I was waiting for the deeper mystery or plot twist, but no. It's predictable yet unbelievable.

GOOD - BUT NOT GREAT
Another good read from Nora. I generally like Nora's characters but this heroine came off as stupid and idiotic. Good story line but I kept being distracted by Morgan's idiocy!

originally published in 1985
I had read this many years ago but didn't recognize it immediately. I thought it was something new. I was disappointed to have used a credit for something I already read. I realize I could have returned it but since I had already started listening, wrote it off to experience. The book itself was okay, but not as good as more recent books. I will examine the dates more thoroughly in the future.

Great storyline, poor performance
I really enjoyed the storyline, but the performance was disappointing. The accents of the Greeks sounded more like a combination of Caribbean with Irish and Scottish; and the Nicholas's voice was sometimes American and sometimes had an "Greek" twang.

Dear Mrs Robert’s
Seriously, in our current me too era, Nick sleeps with Morgan while she is blind drunk! Like that is not going to bite him in the privates in say 5 years or less! Mrs Roberts, I have always been a fan of the magic of your words and I love to inhabit the souls and lands between your pages but this one was a pile of crap. I would maybe have paid $4.95 for this mills and boon but don’t waste a credit.
