Story
Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

Story
I’ve always wanted the fairy tale wedding. Not for the princess perfect dress or big party, but for papa. My grandfather. The only father figure I’ve ever known. It’s his dying wish to walk me down the aisle. Gee, no pressure. But I can grant that wish. I just have to fake being head over heels in love with Ross Andrews, my best friend's big brother whom I embarrassingly crushed on all through high school. Handsome. Knockout sexy. Arrogant jerk extraordinaire. Our childish pranks and tit-for-tat battles were legendary.

Story
It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

Let me just say - none of this was supposed to happen. I didn't expect the letter to go viral. I didn't think anyone would figure out who Dear Sexy Ex was. And I especially never thought he would find out about it. Yeah, bit of a miscalculation there. But see, I need the money to fund my brand new venture. And Dear Sexy Ex, well, it turns out he needs me to save his business. By becoming his fake fiancée.

My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet. Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break. Until one day it did. Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing. Griffin forgave me, and we were able to rekindle our childhood connection.

Books talk about sparks flying. F--k that shit. With her, it was like emergency flares mixed with jet fuel. Or maybe just straight up napalm. Only one problem: She wouldn't tell me her name or her number when she disappeared from the hotel room after the hottest f--king night of my life. And when I find her? I'm keeping her.
Publisher's Summary
A new, sexy standalone from number one New York Times best seller Vi Keeland.
The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.
Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born.
Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day - when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.
The two men spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third business partner. But in the end, neither man could steal half of her heart away from the other.
Eventually, they all went their separate ways. Our grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest business rivals in history.
Our fathers continued the family tradition of feuding. And then Weston and I did, too.
For the most part, we kept as much distance as possible.
Until the day the woman who started the feud died - and unexpectedly left one of the most valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share.
Now I’m stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess our families inherited.
As usual, it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats.
Weston Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his own good. We were fire and ice.
But that shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just one minor problem, though. Every time Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

ADDICTIVE UNSTOPPABLE STORYTELLING
With decades of bad blood between their two Hotelier families, there’s no wonder Sophia Sterling (aka Fifi) and Weston Lockwood were on opposite sides of the Hotel war. As ambassadors of their family’s 49% bequeathed share in the Countess Hotel, Sophia and Weston are jointly sent to soothe the staff, sort out any problems and oversee time-sensitive renovation. But most importantly.. they had to make the winning bid for the crucial up-for-grabs remaining 2% shares which would make their family the majority controlling shareholder. However, their verbal snarky conflicts, feisty frictions, sex rules, anger-fuelled sexcapades and intimate dinners, slowly blurs boundaries, changes priorities, builds trust and loyalty and softens hearts.. but it’s not all plain sailing because someone‘s going to win and someone’s going to loose. This, for me, was the perfect enemies-to-lovers story because it had it all.. and so so much more. There’s seismic clashing with toe-curling chemistry.. a rollercoaster of actions and reactions.. a stepping over - walking in-between and blurring of all kinds of lines.. family politics.. relationship angst.. humor.. heat and a sweet swoony happy ever afters. Couple that with Sebastian and Andi’s first class dual POV narration and you’ve got a definite 5 star audiobook. Worth a credit? Yes.. it’s well-written, well-paced, fun, hot and had me happily staying awake til the wee hours.

So...Is Sebastian York Rob Shapiro? Yup
There are "tells" that answer this seemingly hot Internet search. Just follow the clues. About the book...I have to let some time lapse before listening to an AA/SY-RS book because the characters seem to blend and overlap if I don't. Plus, I find myself longing for authors who don't mass produce material at a record pace, but instead develop unique characters. As a reader/listener (and author and editor), I become invested in characters and their stories...and reading/hearing the same story with different characters becomes old. I crave original, thought-provoking material. If I've read/listened to a book and don't come away feeling like a better person because I learned something about myself, well, the book was simply a time-consumer (entertainment). Which is okay, but those rare gems of books that make me think about life, people, myself...priceless. So, when I listen to a title like this one, I know this is just an entertaining ride for a few hours, kind of like binge eating. Feels good while it's taking place, but afterward, knowing it was just a time-filler. Vi, give us something intense, flawed characters, material that moves a person to be better or makes a reader ponder their own lives. Words are so powerful and can create change, even when they come in the form of a novel. "For as this appalling ocean surrounds the verdant land, so in the soul of man there lies one insular Tahiti, full of peace and joy, but encompassed by all of the horrors of the half-lived life." Herman Melville's Moby Dick.

Conflicted on this one…
I normally enjoy Vi's stories but this one is a strong miss for me!.....The story is related to two feuding families forced to play nice with each other while jointly managing a lucrative hotel property until the one family can buy the other family out of their portion of the hotel. That in and of itself is not a very interesting topic but add to that completely unlikable characters and it all adds up to a miss... About the characters: Weston is a wholly unlikeable character regardless of his past or whether he was used for spare parts as a child. His cluelessness and sexual bullying/harassment was just wrong! Sophia is an unprincipled, spineless whimp of character who is badgered and bulled by EVERYONE! She doesn't stand up for herself at all and her character needs a swift kick in the pants to stop allowing herself to be used and talked down too. The two main character together are not a good combo at all. Sophia's father and step brother are slimy jacka$$'s. nothing further need to be said about them. The only real positive with this book is the narration. Andi and Sebastian made enduring this terrible story some somewhat bearable. I did finally give up with 2 hours left after multiple attempts to continue listening. I will definitely be returning this one! Sorry Vi but this is a big strike out....

Great story
These are two of my favorite narrators so when they come together in a book written by Vi Keeland it’s a must buy. I really enjoyed the characters and that they had a past and history that kept them from having a simple HEA. Both of them had to work for it and it made their story that much better.

All is fair in love and war!
Sophia and Weston are in the middle of a long standing family feud. Neither has much support from their families but they spent their lives hating each other. So what could go wrong when the woman who started the feud dies and each family has to fight for controlling interest in a classy hotel? Sophia and Weston are each sent to the hotel to figure out if they want it and secretly try to outbid the other. But there's a fine line between love and hate! Absolutely loved this book!!!

Predictable but enjoyable!
Vi Keeland did not disappoint with this enemies-to-lovers story❣️Weston and Sofia both have their share of family drama and feelings of inadequacy leading them both to feel like “the black sheep” of their respective families, but drive them to overcome some very tough emotional hurdles. I only wish that their HEA wasn’t quite so predictable. Yes, I wanted them to be together but I also wanted a more significant and unshakable bonding between the two of them. There were some aspects of the story that were underdeveloped (the shrink, the repercussions of dating the enemy, the ex-boyfriend dating your cousin, betrayal, etc.) were alluded to but left unfinished. While both Sebastian York and Andi Arndt performances were stellar there was something missing in the storyline for me, at least. However I did enjoy the listening experience.

sexy as hell
Rivals is a smokin hot steamy story, even though Weston and Sophie have known each other since they were young and have been taught to be enemies. when they argue the Sparks fly and it heats up. Weston is cocky sure of himself and a little sweet makes you love them all the more and Sophia is just the girl you want to root for. the story will make you cry a little and for me it even made me cry happy tears the narrator's did such a wonderful job is these characters.

Pass the time
It was a good story to listen to. The characters are quite Busy bees in the company, they grew up together, working together, and a lot of steamy moments. So, for me, apparently I didn’t get anything out of it, any life lesson learned or even, being part of the main character- Due to the fact, I can not relate to them. However, what I did get is being the audience, seeing how it will unfold & that’s okay. I do wish they had a little more development of the characters instead of always getting it On with one another. Trust me, in bed, a whole lot of chemistry. Haha. I still crave to finish the book. So this one is those books, I think, is meant to have Be a summer book- to have good time & chill. This is just a fun read and nothing more. Yup, I still enjoyed it.

A SEXY ENEMIES TO LOVERS ROMANCE
A sexy, enemies-to-lovers standalone Another fabulous book by Vi Keeland I listened to The Rivals in audio narrated by Sebastion York ad Andi Arndt as always these two narrators really brought the characters to life. I loved it. This book has more than enough to keep you interested. I love the push and pull, the hotness, the humor, and the history behind the family feud. Weston is a hot sexy laid-back kind of guy and Sophia is a fire businesswoman. Both of them have never been good enough in their father's eyes, something they both have in common so when they are both thrown together at the same hotel its fire and ice until the ice melts and there's a different kind of heat. A great read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Not all smiles and roses, but I’m hopeful
Enemies to lovers in the best possible way. Weston Lockwood and Sophia Sterling have known each other nearly all their lives, and most of that time they’ve hated each other with a passion. You know one thing for sure, there’s a fine line between love and hate, and this story is living proof of that. The family feud has been going on since their grandfathers (who were once the best of friends,) fell in love with the same woman, Grace Copeland. After their feud they all parted ways, yet when Grace died she leaves them both equal shares in the hotel she owned, The Countess. When Weston and Sophia are sent by their grandfathers to manage the hotel, things get a little heated, and their hatred for each other comes out in their attraction to each other. A predictable story, wonderfully written with two equally broken, yet loveable, compassionate and very sexy main characters. Totally addictive. Narration couldn’t have been better, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York were made for the roles of Weston and Sophia.

I enjoyed listening to this. Probably won’t stick with me and be memorable, but it was good all the same.

Hate when it ends
I just loved this book, and all of Vi Keeland’s books, specially when narrated by two of the best! This book had so many grea elements to it, and the funny calls, humor and banter was amazing. It wasn’t predictable, and at times I thought it would be, but true to Vi Keeland she never disappoints. Only down fall is now having to wait for her next book.
