I initially hesitated about buying this version of the book, as it’s slightly abridged. But I’m so glad I chose it from the many versions available on Audible. It has always been a magical, uplifting tale. But Julie Christie’s reading is wonderfully expressive and superbly nuanced and the fine cadences of her narrative make the book come vividly alive. It was a joy to experience afresh, this wonderful book.
