Publisher's Summary

Special agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine take on a ruthless mastermind in the fifth highly anticipated thriller in the New York Times best-selling A Brit in the FBI series.

When several major political figures die mysteriously, officials declare the deaths are from natural causes. Then the German Vice-Chancellor dies on the steps of 10 Downing Street, and a drone is spotted hovering over the scene. The truth becomes clear - these high-profile deaths are well-constructed assassinations, and the Covert Eyes team is tasked to investigate.

With the help of Dr. Isabella Marin, a young expert in the enigmatic Voynich Manuscript and cryptophasia (twin language), Nicholas and Michaela home in on Roman Ardelean, a wealthy cybersecurity genius and a descendant of 15th century Romanian Vlad the Impaler - often romanticized as Dracula. Ardelean believes the Voynich Manuscript will unlock the secret to curing his severely ill twin brother's blood disorder and is willing to murder anyone who gets in his way, including Nicholas and Michaela.

Along with MI5, the Covert Eyes team must race against the clock to find Ardelean before he unleashes a devastating attack on London intended to destroy those he believes betrayed him.

With heart-pounding tension and gripping suspense, New York Times best-selling authors Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison "are really on an amazing roll with their outstanding A Brit in the FBI series" (RT Book Reviews).

Fast forward frown of a book

I love CC! Love her! Always buy her books. It pains me deeply to give this one a thumbs down. The story was boring and a little too paranormal for my liking. I set the speed on 1.5x and still had to forward the story. I most look forward to catching up with one of my favorite literary couples-Mikayla and Nicholas, but even that fell short. The extent of the romance was he touched her check and references to them being up all night in the bedroom. Wink-wink. Lame. So much potential wasted for what romance readers like me crave, actually NEED, when we wait a year between books. I am left empty on this one and will likely start borrowing instead of buying this series unless it becomes a bit deeper romantically and less deep paranormally.

Not my cup of tea

Sorry but absolutely hated this book. This is nothing like the Savage series and I found this very hard to follow. Apparently I’m in the minority.

Saving the world again!

Fun to reconnect with characters who seem like old acquaintances. Plenty of humor and thrills!

I'M DONE

I promised myself not to try any more of the Brit in the FBI series after the last dumb, Indiana Jones esque volcano book I suffered through, but I was short on listening material and bit. Try as I might I couldn't get past the two hour mark. The premise. The performance. The lack of reality. Attempts to twist the plot so much it just twists all over itself. I'm returning this one.

In awe of their talent

I have had this in my library for a few years, probably since it first came out. Why it has taken me so long to read/listen to it, who knows. It is an awesome story. I loved it. As usual, fast paced action mixed with myths and magic. I enjoy getting lost in the story. Especially with Renee Raudman and MacLeod Andrews acting it out for me. This is the fifth book I have listened to read by them and I am still in awe of the range of their talents. A real pleasure to listen to. I do wonder when Mike and Nick are going to get an uninterrupted vacation though. Doesn't seem to matter where they are, an extreme case seems to find them. I look forward to the next book!

Excellent narration!

A more unbelievable story than some, and more blood and gore.

Still kept my attention and interest, and I’m ready for the next wild adventure of Nicholas and Mike!

Enjoyable

For those doubting Thomas's, I recommend listening to this book. This is # 5 in the "a Brit in the FBI" series. If you've ever been to London, or wanted to visit, you will love listening to the trivia from Wikipedia. It's a story with some of the characters from the last book in it. The narrators' performances were awesome!
Enjoy!☺️

More like Dirk Pitt book than Crime, But Fun

An enjoyable series, but has become an international adventure series.

Although the dual narration is overall great, I just have to take half a star off for the incessant pronunciation of Kitsune as Kitsoon. It would like being a fan of Japan and naming yourself after Mount Fuji, but telling everyone your name was pronouned "Fudgee"...

A little supernatural. A little mayhem. A lot of thrills. And course….. a laugh or two. Always good reading.
