Does not live up to the hype

The plot had great potential but unfortunately the book just dragged on. Too much detailing and inconsistencies in the character ruined it. The narration was excellent though.

Redo needed

Rody McDowell is not a very good book reader and the recording is lower quality than is now routine. The book is pretty good Sheldon.

very muffled sound and quite random accents.

At times Scottish, others Irish, this author reads with energy but his Italian American is simply poor, a whisper that barely reaches the earphone. Not the best Sidney but still with some merit

The audio is mushy

It's a good story. The recording is mushy sounding. It's not because of Roddy McDowall. It's a poor quality recording.

Good story but the narration was monotone.

How could the performance have been better?

Different dialects/voices for the characters. It was difficult to understand where one character ended and another began.

Listening to this is painful

The man reading this book is absolutely awful. He clearly doesn’t understand the brief as I believe he dramatised a lot of the main characters lines very incorrectly. Proving he clearly doesn’t understand the essence of her character
