Fast paced and enthralling storyline that grips you from start to finish. A must read trilogy.

Fantastic series

Conn Iggulden has long been one of my favourite authors from his Caesar and Genghis Khan series, and his first fantasy series is gripping and leaves you wanting more. Please write another one in the series Conn, there's so much more to find out about the Empire of Salt.

The narrator also does a brilliant job and each character is well defined vocally. Thanks both for a great story.

good story

Something a bit different. A good story & well narrated. As with some other books by this author I find the ending a bit sudden with lack of detail.

left wanting more

there is never enough of the books in this series. the writing and performance have left me thoroughly invested in every character (reluctantly in the case of John Deeds) and I cried at "That Bit" on the walls (no spoilers but some concerned Starbucks customers). I want them all to have happy endings (except for Deeds).

Never enough Elias. Ever. And he's so Sean Bean in my head it's not even funny.

Elias and Nancy are the OTP. fight me!

The best of the trilogy

Marvellous story. This is the best of the trilogy. I recommend reading them in order so the individual characters and their abilities make sense.

Different....but in a great way!

The third and final book in the Empire of Salt trilogy. I have found this trilogy to be very different from anything else I have read/listened to (in a good way). Its original, gripping and on occasions both endearing and funny. The world that Conn Iggulden has created is similar to the approach in game of thrones in that there are many things that we will recognise as being the same as the real world that we occupy, but it has this continual menacing back glow of unimaginable and creative 'magic', it is perhaps that which make this trilogy so different and special. I very much enjoyed Conn Iggulden's historical fiction books and I have struggled to get into his other genre efforts but this Empire of Salt series is explosive, immersive and I couldn't put it down!
