Publisher's Summary

It was the eye. The dull, sightless, vulture's eye that shredded his final nerve. But the murder was done so carefully, so perfectly, that only one thing could reveal the whereabouts of the body. B. J. Harrison gives a masterful reading of the famous murder that wouldn't keep quiet. This audiobook was the #3 best-selling audiobook in 2008 at the iTunes Music Store!

THE VULTURE EYE

THE BEATING OF HIS HIDEOUS HEART
This has always been my favorite Poe tale. I remember first reading it around the age of eight. It is written with such clarity, that you can't help but feel you are there. This may be the best fifteen minutes you can spend listening.

Harrison does a splendid job. He reads about 40 of these classic tales and none of his voices sound alike.

Happy Halloween!!

Great Teaching Tool!

As an English teacher for over 20 years, I am always looking for ways to bring literature to life for my students. This reading of The Tell-tale Heart really helped my students to visualize and understand the narrator's madness...a most effective teaching tool!

A classic brought to life

I've heard several stories read by BJ Harrison. His narration isn't always my cup of tea but it's evident that he's a master of his craft. That said, this is probably my favorite reading of his so far. He breathes the needed insanity into this tale of which is the grandfather of obsession and monomania horror stories.

Excellent performance

I usually wouldn't bother with an audiobook so short, but I never got around to reading this. It is a melodramatic reading which would usually annoy me except it fits perfectly with Poe's equally dramatic prose. I enjoyed it very much!

Could they not hear it?

This short story was one of the few to catch my attention as a kid in school.

Soon after i fell in love with the rest of the writers works, but this one has always held a spot for me special.

The narration completes this fully, and compliments the story perfectly. Picking up at the right points and building the suspense

Amazing

I loved the voice acting. I got chills as the man started to become unhinged. Such an exciting story.

LOve it!

I did like it. What was there not to like about EAP? I would rather hve it on audible than read it. The performance was excellent.
