"A supersharp mystery...confoundingly clever, and very funny." (Booklist, starred review)

A bizarre chain of events begins when 16 unlikely people gather for the reading of Samuel W. Westing's will. And though no one knows why the eccentric, game-loving millionaire has chosen a virtual stranger - and a possible murderer - to inherit his vast fortune, one thing's for sure: Sam Westing may be dead...but that won't stop him from playing one last game!

tech glitches and average reading

The audiobook stalled a couple of times.
The author's accents were grating especially the Scottish one.

Excellent, Engaging, Smart Whodunit

If you could sum up The Westing Game in three words, what would they be?

This flew. The story was well crafted and kept my attention. The details are everything, and the book truly deserves multiple listens. Who killed Sam Westing? Which one of his many heirs will solve the crime? And why did the eccentric millionaire turn his own death into a game? I am a fan of mystery novels, and this certainly fits the bill.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Westing Game?

The scene where the will is read starts things off nicely.

What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?

The narration had feeling.

Love it but not for kids under age 8 or 9 best time to read 10 and up so you can understand the book and solve it yourself.

Amazing!

This is a beautifully written and read book. It is a thriller type murder mystery book but is still appropriate for 3rd or 4th grade and up! If you are younger or scare really easily, I wouldn’t suggest reading this at night or before bed. It is a book that you have to experience. There are so many plot twists and clues that you can keep up with. You can even play along as you read!! 😍 This is a definite 10/10!!!!

I thought this was a really good book!

I found the plot intriguing! Not your run-of-the-mill murder mystery. And I've read quite a few.

One of my favorite books

A fun, clean story with memorable characters and a crafty plot. I've read this several times and now enjoy it as an adult.

Fascinating mystery, great story

Like many books of the last century, this one takes time to get into. You might think that you've solved the puzzle halfway through, but you'll learn that that solution was only the beginning of a deeper puzzle.

What really makes the tale, though, is the way Raskin winds up the stories of all the characters into a tightly wound conclusion.

I read this many years ago when I was in elementary school, and it is somehow even better the second time around.

The narrator is excellent. She does a very good job with all the different voices. And it was fascinating to hear the afterward of Raskin 's former editor. What a marvelous person this author seems to have been, and how sad that she departed the world so soon.

Many thanks, Ms. Raskin, for gifting us with this wonderful book before you departed.

Simply,Beutiful

I really liked how the ascents were played, and how there was
edge-of-the-seat suspense.

There was really nothing wrong with it, and I hope that readers all over the world will discover(and of course LOVE) it.
