Publisher's Summary

Someone is out to destroy the family vineyard - and expose its secrets - in this atmospheric novel from Cynthia Ellingsen, Amazon Charts bestselling author of The Lighthouse Keeper.

Abby Harrington’s family has dedicated their lives to cultivating the family vineyard and collecting vintage wines. But it takes only one night for the priceless collection to vanish, stolen during Abby’s grandparents’ sixtieth anniversary celebration. Then a devastating plane crash leaves her grandfather clinging to life in intensive care.

Desperate to take action, Abby sets out to discover who stole the precious wine - and why. The clues lead her to dark truths about her family she is not prepared to face. Soon Abby begins receiving threatening messages and doubting those closest to her. Making things even more complicated, the attractive doctor who saved her grandfather’s life offers her a shoulder to lean on just as the man she once loved returns to the vineyard.

The more truths Abby is forced to confront, the more her world spins off its axis. Can she unravel the secrets of the past in time to save the vineyard’s future - and her own?

Winemakers Secrets!

I happened upon this book by accident and am I ever glad that I had the opportunity to read this book (audio)! I hope that more of her books will be put into the audio format because I have been an avid reader for many years and now require audio books. This book was absolutely wonderful! It kept me in suspense right up to the end and I enjoyed the characters and how the author built each one and let the reader feel like they knew them and felt the heart break, the love of family, the support of not only the family members but the people that worked in the winery. When talking about the wines I felt like I was right there tasting them and savoring the flavors. This is one of my most favorite Cozy Mysteries I have ever read! The writing was superb! I would highly recommend this book to anyone that is interested in cozy mysteries and/or romances! This is a great read! Thank you to the author for such a wonderful book! I hope to read many more of her books.

I loved it

This was delightful. I would think I had things figured out and then I would be right back to guessing again. In the end I wasn't surprised by some things but others were a wonderful surprise.

Whiney Main Females Need to go Away!!!

Good premise for the story. Good narrator. Goes downhill from there. Why oh why must all the romance writers put their characters in the 30 yr old age bracket?! It's like no other ages exist! Ridiculous. Then the main female character is sooooo whiney! For a 30 something year old woman, she is such a complainer! Whines, cries, hangs onto crap that happened when she was a child for gosh sakes! For someone who wants to run her family's vineyard, she sure doesn't act like a grown adult. I sure wouldn't have let her run the dang thing. She has no self esteem, no confidence and acts like a 12 year old most of the time. This could have been a great story, but I could barely stand listening to it because of the female lead.

Pretty good

I was hooked and kept listening until the end. The story was a bit wine related yet the mystery kept me going.

The best part was it came free with Kindle unlimited.

Depressing

I made it 3 hours in and gave up. It was so depressing and there was no reprieve. I generally do like the author and narrator, just not this time.

I'm still in shock!

Wow! This was a really good read and real page turner. I can't believe I didn't figure it out because I so should have. Ugh! There'll be no spoilers here though, get a copy and see for yourself.

Entertaining, though plots are flimsy

It was great to spend time in Starlight Cove, and I've grown attached to the characters. I want to read more in the future, and will, if more are published.

That being said, the plot itself required me to suspend my disbelief beyond my comfort zone, and both the romance and the mystery felt sort of slapped together and flimsy. From such a talented author, I expected the book to hold together better.

Looking forward to the next.

Good solid book.

Many twists and turns. A few clues along the way or are they red herrings. You will have to listen to find out. Great book.
