Michelangelo. Saint Helena. A Catalan politician. A dying Irish banker, an aboriginal tribesman. A Benedictine Oblate nun, a homeless beggar, French soldiers, Mark Antony, Capuchin monks, Dominican friars... and a nondescript 21st century man.Lost in a feedback loop of life, he travels the world searching for something more than he was being told. At various places from Sydney to Dublin, Paris to Rome, and points in between, the world has something to show him. His imagination fills in the blanks.Set across 50,000 years of human history from prehistoric Australia to the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the French Revolution, the Spanish Civil War, World War II, and the 21st century, they struggle with God, seize historical relics, face a firing squad, incite a riot, create art with skeletons, and discuss quantum mechanics centuries before Einstein.Across this span, they explore the deeper truths of the human experience: God, Space, Faith, Change, Death, Poverty, Compassion, Suffering, War, Quantum Entanglement, Anselm's Ontological Argument, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, Schrodinger's Cat, and Tranquility... among other things. From a first-time author, The World Whispered is one-third autobiographical memoir, one-third historical fiction, and one-third philosophical hypothesis with intuitive and counterintuitive conclusions.Rick Steves wrapped in Bill Bryson wrapped in Eckhart Tolle, then inserted into The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The World Whispered is an ambitious attempt to bring a new perspective and meaning to personal transformation through travel with the true story of — and from — someone who did it.©2024 A.
