Publisher's Summary

"Think and Grow Rich" is a motivational personal development and selfhelp audiobook written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie.

While the title implies that this book deals only with how to achieve monetary wealth, the author explains that the philosophy taught in the book can be used to help individuals do or be almost anything they want in this world. For instance, Jim Murray (sportswriter) wrote that "Think and Grow Rich" was credited for Ken Norton's boxing upset of Muhammad Ali in 1973.

The book was first published in 1937 during the Great Depression. At the time of Hill's death in 1970, "Think and Grow Rich" had sold 20 million copies. It remains the biggest seller of Napoleon Hill's books, a perennial bestseller after 70 years (BusinessWeek Magazine's BestSeller List ranked "Think and Grow Rich" as the sixth bestselling paperback business book 70 years after it was first published).

"Think and Grow Rich" is listed in John C. Maxwell's "A Lifetime Must Read Books List".

What a book it is.

Just completed the book, when I started i had a stupid low paying job with no possibility of getting a raise.
While reading this book, I started thinking differently, I implemented few thoughts and by the time I had finished this book. I am loaded with job offers. Not any job offers, I recieved offers with 62% increase in pay that too in a city i wanted, where all my friends are working. This is my story. I hope you read and get the benifits you need.
Thank you for reading.

Partly relevant today

The start and the end of the book are timeless wisdom that can be adapted to our lives, the middle is rather irrelevant in today's context.

lots of thought provoking information.

the overall thoughts in this book are great. i like that the research to make this book was information from major historical figures. some of the ideas are a little out there, but for the most part it seems like if you let this book guide you. you can gain what you want in life.

Great reminder of basics

This book is a great “power of positive thinking” type book. It’s writing is dated but still relevant and inspiring. I will listen to several more times. If you like motivational, self help type books, this is a classic.

Hated It

I'm completely on board with the concepts, but it's so outdated and the narrator's voice is monotonous.

In some parts the book goes way off piste and you wonder what on earth you're listening too.

I gave this a good go but 3/4 of the way through I had to tap out.

Very engaging and surprisingly actionable

The book itself is very actionable and I personally found it very engaging.

I also enjoyed the narration as I felt I had a mentor talking me through the topics covered.

A truly wonderful and inspiring experience!

I smiled to myself reading the reviews of this audiobook - I’m glad to see that so many others have had their spirits lifted by Hill’s insights. For me, his offerings of practical remedies to all the causal problems outlined only add to the inspiring nature of this work. The book is changing my life, truly - I have read twice through and am restarting for a third time today. Like others, I suggest a second listen after you’ve first gone through it - the experience certainly becomes more meaningful!

For those saying it is old fashioned or outdated, I think they’re concentrating on irrelevance... the book is nearly a century old, what writing style/social references were they expecting? I was personally amazed at how much of the information Hill provided remains relevant and applicable today and I happened to find the writing style to be both elegant and concise.

The narration was also fantastic in my opinion. Full credit to Russ Williams for reading to me perhaps the most influential work I might ever have heard in a flowing but decisive style.

Thanks Mr. Hill, I’ll see you at the council meeting tonight!

Disappointing

I was expecting a lot from this book after having heard many recommendations on many different podcasts, but I was quite disappointed in the end.

Whilst there is definitely some good advice in there, there is also a lot of nonsense including stating that telepathy and clairvoyancy are real and claiming as fact that bald men are only bald because they wear their hats too tight!

Also note that whilst the book version has around 12 or so chapters, this version of the audiobook is divided into 180 or so chapters, each exactly 3 and a half minutes long. I have no idea why they've done that and I found it rather annoying personally.
