Publisher's Summary

"Think and Grow Rich" is a motivational personal development and selfhelp audiobook written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie.

While the title implies that this book deals only with how to achieve monetary wealth, the author explains that the philosophy taught in the book can be used to help individuals do or be almost anything they want in this world. For instance, Jim Murray (sportswriter) wrote that "Think and Grow Rich" was credited for Ken Norton's boxing upset of Muhammad Ali in 1973.

The book was first published in 1937 during the Great Depression. At the time of Hill's death in 1970, "Think and Grow Rich" had sold 20 million copies. It remains the biggest seller of Napoleon Hill's books, a perennial bestseller after 70 years (BusinessWeek Magazine's BestSeller List ranked "Think and Grow Rich" as the sixth bestselling paperback business book 70 years after it was first published).

"Think and Grow Rich" is listed in John C. Maxwell's "A Lifetime Must Read Books List".

Nice book but unstructured in Audible

I am liking the book but it is hard to follow the the content as there are 200 chapters of 3 to 4 minutes in Audible. If I listen for 30 minutes today, next day it is really hard to recall the chapter, its title, its focus, its content etc. Book MUST be in the chapters as per books rather than 200 3 minute clips. So, this best book has the worst presentation assuming that people will still buy it. Half way in the book and I am feeling that I need to buy a hardcopy as well, even though I am not willing to do so.

Gets interesting towards the end

Like every other book on manifestation, this book sticks to the script.
Some parts felt irrelevant, but I guess this is due to the publishing period of the book was more than 70 years ago.
But to give it credit, it does get interesting towards the end.

Great Book, inaccurate chapters

The book is a classic. Wish that the audio was broken down by real chapters instead of over 100 breaks at random with no rhyme or reason, so if you want to go to a particular chapter, you can’t!

A stepping stone for anyone beginning their intellectual journey

The idea is very clear and translated very well for any average reader, some of the social ideals are mildly questionable in this day and age in regards of what to expect when dealing with businesses and the offering of free service with the understanding that it won’t be exploited but in dealing with how to hold oneself to a standard and run their own business is very important. Also the $65 for an apartment in t he city of New York and $25 in suburbs gave me a good chuckle.

lots of thought provoking information.

the overall thoughts in this book are great. i like that the research to make this book was information from major historical figures. some of the ideas are a little out there, but for the most part it seems like if you let this book guide you. you can gain what you want in life.

At nearly 100 years old, too dated to be of help

While this book does have some timeless wisdom, the author oversteps factual evidence and delves inaccurately into subjects that have long since been explained by science. Towards the latter half, the author goes on a spiritual tangent about how the "emotion" of sex is what geniuses use to transcend their thought vibrations to a higher plane. Not for the truly logical or business minded person, and I don't think would it be compatible with many religious beliefs.

I'm sure it was revolutionary and great for it's time, but you'll find the same very basic insights in any self-dev book. All and all, I feel like this book had surprisingly little to offer, and was so rife with psychological and scientific inaccuracies that I almost stopped listening. Not to mention there seemed to be some digs at working class people, which rubbed me the wrong way. I had a lot of time on my hands so I don't completely regret listening to this, but I wouldn't recommend it.

The book itself is very actionable and I personally found it very engaging.

I also enjoyed the narration as I felt I had a mentor talking me through the topics covered.

Hated It

I'm completely on board with the concepts, but it's so outdated and the narrator's voice is monotonous.

In some parts the book goes way off piste and you wonder what on earth you're listening too.

I gave this a good go but 3/4 of the way through I had to tap out.

This book is changing my life.

After reading this book for the first time, I put a sketch of action. And after a second reading, I perfected my plan, prescribed in chapter two.

Since putting the plan into action, my life seems to be drawn on a vision board. Autosuggestion is powerful. And the links drawn in this book to autosuggestion are eternally true as I now experience it.

The book is written in simple to understand language and the principles are laid down, revised, emphasized upon and developed in a logical manner.

If you have struggled to make meaningful decisions and find your goals or vision in life, read this book and be saved from doubt .

I recommend this book to everyone who seeks meaning, clarity and any type of wealth in their life.

Old, outdated book

Old, outdated book. Focus is on making money, with references to philosophical, untestable pseudo-claims (see faith chapter). Also factually inaccurate - Columbus was dreaming about finding America?
There are better books on the market nowadays, backed by actual science and data.
This one is no longer relevant.
