Facendo nomi e cognomi, Lerner porta il lettore all'incontro con tanti insospettabili spacciatori d'identità: le femministe che elogiano Ratzinger in nome della differenza sessuale; gli intellettuali ebrei che coltivano una narcisistica separazione, contraddicendo l'intento emancipatorio del sionismo; i simboli etnici introdotti sui campi di calcio; l'Ulivo disfatto in nome delle identità di partito.
