Publisher's Summary

The new novel in the hit New York Times best-selling Dresden Files series.

The Warden Morgan has been accused of treason against the Wizards of the White Council - and there's only one, final punishment for that crime. He's on the run, wants his name cleared, and needs someone with a knack for backing the underdog. Someone like Harry Dresden....

Now, Harry must uncover a traitor within the Council, keep a less-than-agreeable Morgan under wraps, and avoid coming under scrutiny himself. And a single mistake may cost someone his head - someone like Harry

Critic Reviews

“Fans of Laurell K. Hamilton and Tanya Huff will love this series.” (Midwest Book Review)

“Superlative.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review)

“Butcher...spins an excellent noirish detective yarn in a well-crafted, supernaturally-charged setting. The supporting cast is again fantastic, and Harry’s wit continues to fly in the face of a peril-fraught plot.” (Booklist, starred review)

Dresdelicious👌

Dresden Files started out as a story of wise-cracking Private Investigator who handled supernatural crimes from Chicago. one who shed gandalfy archetype of wizards by being in the front, hurling fire ball and swearing f##k subtle.. when the author said that it's going to be a planned 20 book saga that will culminate in an apocalypse themed (books 18-20)trilogy, at some point it should shed it's humble origins of PI cracking a case.. in all senses this book is tribute to that phase of Dresden's life... In all the previous books there are subtle things happening, powers gathering ,traitors inside white council, governing body of wizards in the midst of war between wizards and vampires.. many things that hinted in the past books are resolved many exciting things are promised..there are character deaths... in my opinion, BEST PI book in the series. less action but lot of exposition into council politics.. BUT I swear you won't have any complaint if you read the next book.."changes" nothing can prepare you for that book...spine chiling...nerve wracking...heart breaking....watch Dresden stretched to his limits..going all out...Jim butcher..you are a genius..
