Publisher's Summary

Confront the lies that hold you back. Discover the truth that sets you free.

Let's face it - the Bible contains passages that are challenging to interpret and can even incite fear. Sure, we want to believe that God's grace applies to our unique troubles: addiction, divorce, habitual sins, or a feeling of distance from God because we don't seem to measure up. Still, perplexing Bible passages eat at us.

Best-selling author and national radio host Dr. Andrew Farley is known to challenge legalistic and lifeless interpretations with his discerning take on controversial scriptures. In Twisted Scripture, Andrew skewers sacred cows and shatters destructive lies, bringing the undiluted truth about God's love and grace in a colorful and conversational look at the most controversial passages in the New Testament.

This book offers more than just encouragement and freedom. It may change everything about the way you see yourself and God.

As far as the performance of the audiobook I would have preferred it be performed by the author Dr. Andrew Farley.
I feel something always gets lost when someone other than the author reads the book as no one can convey the emotions and message better than the authors themselves. you'll understand what I'm talking about if you go to AndrewFarley.org and listen to some of his teachings.

if I had found Andrew Farley's Ministry the naked gospel Jesus only all natural when I was 15 years old, it would have me a lot of grief.

Liberating book

This is a fantastic book which pushes over many ‘sacred cows’ which is okay until they are your particular ones. It really opened up my eyes to to further understand the scripture and the purposes of God, the depth of what He has done for us and the amazing beauty of his love and grace.

Close but not close enough!

The author starts out strong but begins creating his own suppositions. Defeating his own purpose!

Great read with questions

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I love Andrew and his articulate way of covering scripture. Although I appreciate much of what is presented in the 45 chapters, I do see some presuppositions of what others think. Bowling pins are set up and then knocked down. Again I love the book and gleaned much to ponder, I can't agree with some of the exegesis and theology. A few iffy doctrinal positions are taken. Concerning grace, once saved always saved I couldn't agree more! I encourage the read and please be careful to not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Thanks Andrew for this thoughtful contribution to the body of Christ.

Not truth

This guy takes God's words literally and interprets them as twisted scripture. But, many places are incorrect because they were meant to be used as examples or parables to help understand the message not as literal translations. Of course we aren't supposed to pluck out an eye but that's because this was to show that we are not to keep a sinful person around lest the whole church become sinful. Not pluck out a literal eye but remove a bad seed from our presence so that we may remain Godly. I couldn't get past chapter 6 of this hypocrisy as an ordained Christian.

For true believers only

Not very educational. the author assumes a given belief system, and then launches a polemic
