About this listen

Beth goes from being a successful performance artist to a beginning comic, with tales of one-nighters from the comedy boom and the final hell gig that made her leave the "straight" comedy world to start the Un-Cabaret.

BETH LAPIDES executive produced and hosted Un-Cabaret for Comedy Central. She hosts and curates the Un-Cabaret, Say the Word, and the Other Network. She is a commentator for NPR's All Things Considered and The Huffington Post, and had her own daily talk show on Comedy World Radio. She has appeared on Sex and the City, Politically Incorrect, and Will & Grace. Her writing has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, Utne Reader, The Realist, Premiere, jewcy.com, and freshyarn.com, and her first book, Did I Wake You? - Haikus for Modern Living was published in 2007.
