Fear and loathing on the 2020 campaign trail....

'Feb 26, White House briefing room: the coronavirus feels like it is changing everything.... Coronavirus is suddenly not just a public health emergency; it has the potential to upend Trump's whole campaign.... '

Our man in America, BBC North America Editor Jon Sopel, presents a diary of an election like we've never quite seen before. Experience life as a White House reporter on the campaign trail, as the election heats up and a global pandemic slowly sweeps in, challenging the very institutions of American politics and the Trump presidency. As American lives are lost at a devastating rate, the election becomes a battle for the very soul of the nation.

In this highly personal account of reporting America in 2020, Jon Sopel takes you behind the senses of White House in crisis and an election in turmoil. Expertly laying bare the real story of the 2020 campaign in a panoramic account of an election and a year like no other.

9 hour demonstration of Trump Derangement Syndrome

Definitely not written by an unbiased Journalist... Is suffering from Trump Derrangement syndrome, the way the pitch of his voice rises when talking trump is a give away not what I expected from an Alleged professional journalist. poor very poor.

What an enjoyable book this is

I always enjoy Jon Sopel's reports on the American political scene on the BBC but you always want more than the time given to his broadcasts. The audible version of the book was a delight throughout, the central character in the story, Donald Trump, dominates everyone and everything, he is the news. There has never been anyone like it as leader of the free world. Jon was there, saw and heard what happened and Trump must have been a dream President for journalists. Jaw dropping at times, eye opening, great stuff and so well narrated. There will never be a presidency or election quite like it again

Fascinating

Really fantastic book! So many ‘oh wow’ moments even though the Trump presidency has been so well documented and reported on! A fascinating insight into what a like of a foreign correspondent is, especially in such crazy times as a Trump presidency. This will be a book that in uears to come, students in the future will read/listen and go ‘holy s**t did this really happen?!’ Well yes, yes it did. Absolutely love Sopes!

Enjoyable listen

I have enjoyed all of Jon’s books focussed on Trump. I don’t think this is the best of the trilogy but definitely worth a listen.
