Publisher's Summary

A new job and a hot but grouchy boss for Christmas.

Falling stars are supposed to be a lucky sign, but not for Austen. Her new job as a secretary in an international games company isn't off to a good start. Her first assignment - decorating the Christmas tree in the lobby - results in a trip to the ER after Dee, the company's second-in-command, gets hit by the star-shaped tree topper.

Dee blames her instant attraction to Austen on her head wound, not the magic of the falling star. She's determined not to act on it, especially since Austen has no idea that Dee is practically her boss.

Contains mature themes.

Turn the Ice Queen into a Snow Cone 😊

If you like melting the ice queen romance novels, then you will love Under a Falling Star.

While I would not consider Dee to be a real ice queen but more of a snow cone 😊 she is certainly a hardheaded boss who meets an equally stubborn administrative assistant. They try to hide their relationship and eventually get caught...hey it's a romance novel and we all know what happens, but we love reading it anyway.

This book followed by Partners is a good lead in for Wrong Number Right Woman even though Dee and Austin are only portrayed in passing in Wrong Number Right Woman it is still interesting in how many of Jae’s books tie many of the characters together not only from the same series but with characters from other series and books she has written.

Excellent

I read this book a few years ago and it became one of my favorites. With Abby redoing the audio, I'm sure I will listen to this audiobook more times in the future. Abby brings the characters to life like no other narrator does. It is worth a credit for sure.

Audio is the way to go for this book!

This one's a prime example of how the right narrator can elevate the experience of a book! I am a huge fan of Jae's, but this one wasn't high up on the list of my favorites of hers when I initially read it. But I was excited Abby Craden was hired to narrate the re-vamped audiobook version and knew I wanted to give it a go.
This was much more enjoyable for me than when I read the ebook and it was the perfect listen to wrap up on Christmas Day! The only thing SLIGHTLY distracting is that Austen's voice was much like Dawn's voice in Conflict of Interest and since Dawn makes appearances in this one, Abby had to change Dawn's to differentiate them. Occupational hazard, I guess. Not a big deal but it's interesting how that sticks in your mind - especially with as many books as Abby has narrated!
Everything works together perfectly to make this an audiobook well worth owning! If I had to recommend only one way to experience the story, it would be with this audiobook version.

Adorable

This is a really adorable book. The MCs are both extremely likable and I love that Jae wrote them each as strong characters who challenge one another. As always, AC is brilliant and brings Jae’s words to life.

wonderful story

As usual, another fun romp from Jae. I have enjoyed her other Portland books. The only very minor gripe I have is Abby's voicing for Dawn is much for gravelly than in the police books. that said, I totally understand it was likely done to keep Dawn and Austen distinct in the narrative. Still, it was really jarring for me and I would have suggested to just bite the bullet and keep Dawn's voice consistent. It's just a personal preference and nothing that should keep anyone from savoring this fantastic performance.

loved it

as a stand alone this story is superb. I love the characters storyline and humour, a page Turner as they say and adding the incredible Abbey Craydens sensual voice to Jaes' genius this is a must buy in the genre.

Heart warming and hot

This is another Jae winner. I love her complex characters and though the premise seems a little cliche the delivery is very enjoyable. I do like ice queens.
